Stacey Cooke: Who is Ryan Giggs’ Ex-Wife?
Welsh footballer Ryan Giggs is known for his successful career at Manchester United. But, equally, the footballer has been in the news frequently over the last 20 years for his personal life.
Ryan’s marriage to, and subsequent divorce from Stacey Cooke made all the papers. Their relationship didn’t come to a happy close, and the whole story is shocking.
So, let’s find out about Ryan Giggs’s ex-wife Stacey Cooke and the story of their breakup.
Ryan Giggs and Stacey Cooke
Stacey Cooke married Ryan Giggs in 2007. At that time, Giggs was guiding Manchester United to another Premier League victory (and Giggs’ ninth league title).
They married at The Lowry Hotel in Salford, in a quiet ceremony that was rather different from regular footballer weddings.
Stacey and Ryan already had two children: Liberty, born in 2003, and Zach, born in 2006. This means that they were just 4 and 1 years old when the couple finally tied the knot.

Their marriage wasn’t easy, though – and that might be an understatement.
In 2011, the footballer’s true nature came to light when Ryan’s mistress went to the press. It turned out that Ryan had been conducting a secret affair with none other than his brother’s wife Natasha.
Natasha took her story to the press when she found out that Ryan was attempting to place a gagging order on Big Brother star Imogen Thomas. Ryan and Imogen were also locked in a shocking affair.
Ryan started seeing Natasha in 2003 before he and Stacey got married. Unbelievably, the affair continued for eight years.
Even after this shocking news, Ryan and Stacey stayed married for another five years.
When Did Ryan and Stacey Divorce?
To anyone else, Ryan cheating on his brother’s wife should have been the death knell of his and Stacey’s marriage.
However, the couple persevered until 2016, by which time there was another scandal.
A year previously, newspapers got word that Ryan was once again cheating on Stacey, this time with a PR executive called Kate Greville.
Kate was also married, and her ex-husband commented that Ryan was the “third person in our marriage.”

Once this came to light, Stacey and Ryan went through a lengthy divorce process, after an angry battle over their shared £40 million wealth.
Courts finally granted their divorce in 2017, in a legal ceremony that took just 43 seconds.
The divorce documents explained that the marriage had “broken down irretrievably,” a line that both Ryan and Stacey confirmed.
Who is Stacey Cooke Dating Now?
After her difficult marriage to Ryan Giggs, it looks like Stacey has now found happiness again. Now with a footballer this time, but with a singer.
In fact, Stacey is now dating The Wanted singer Max George. They have been together since early 2019, after meeting at a bar in Salford.
Speaking about his relationship with Stacey, Max emphatically said: “I’ve always said I’ve wanted kids but never committed to it in my own head but I think Stacey’s the one.
We would love to add to the family at some point, that would be amazing. Obviously, there are no guarantees but I’m sure we both feel the same way.”
He’s even suggested that the two will go on to wed at some point, adding: “She’d have to say yes first, we seem to be getting on all right.”

Jesse Lingard Wife: Who Is the Footballer Dating?
As for Ryan, he got back in touch with his PR mistress, Kate Greville, shortly after his divorce was finalised.
They went public with their relationship in 2018 after being spotted together at a resort on the Amalfi Coast.
However, Ryan isn’t immune from more scandal. In 2020 he was arrested for a suspected assault on a woman, which was confirmed to be Kate.
He allegedly caused her bodily harm at his home in Manchester on the 1st November 2020. After some delays, Ryan is now set to present his defence in court later this year.
Ryan hasn’t publicly addressed the allegations. Other details in the court case concern ‘coercing behaviour with Kate and additional assault at a hotel in London.
He only commented: “I have full respect for the due process of law and understand the seriousness of the allegations. I look forward to clearing my name.”
