Wes Bentley’s been climbing the Hollywood ladder for years now, and he’s had some major successes along the way.
He’s starred in the likes of The Hunger Games, Interstellar and Yellowstone- but he’s the complete opposite of some of his characters!
Wes is a huge family man, and spends a lot of his time away from the cameras with his wife and kids.
Let’s get to know his adorable family.
Wes Bentley Children
Wes Bentley’s children are son Charles, who is eleven, and daughter Brooklyn, who is now seven.
He shares them with wife Jacqui Swedberg, who is a TV producer.
She’s best known for her work on TV series Corner Gas, which aired between 2007 and 2009.
The couple like to spend time with their children away from the public eye. So much so, that the Hollywood couple didn’t actually announce their daughter’s birth until four months later!

But Wes can’t resist mentioning how happy he is as a dad from time to time.
Speaking back in 2015, the actor gushed:
“I didn’t know I was going to love being a dad so much.
Now it’s the only thing I want to be. I just want to be a great dad. Everything I’m doing, I’m trying to incorporate being a good dad.
Anytime I lose my head or feel stressed, I remember I’m doing this for my kids and think about them. It lightens my heart.”
Turning Life Around
Wes Bentley’s dedication to his kids is clear to see. Whenever he isn’t working, he’s spotted hanging out with Charles and Brooklyn on cute day trips and holidays.
But things weren’t always this way. Before Wes met wife Jacqui, the star was battling an addiction to heroin.
He lost his best friend Heath Ledger to an accidental prescription drug overdose. Wes fell even further into drugs to process the loss of Heath, and it eventually cost the American Beauty star his marriage to actress Jennifer Quanz.

After his marriage broke down, Wes Bentley was struggling to hold down work. His addiction was causing problems on set of the films P2 and Weirdsville, and in 2008, he was arrested and ordered into counselling. He relapsed, and “continued using heroin until he was broke”.
Fast forward two years though, and Wes was turning his life around. He had met new wife Jacqui, who has helped Wes through his demons. And the actor was also able to start working again, and eventually landed a role in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.
In a candid interview with The Guardian, Wes said:
“I’ve been given this second chance, and I’m going to do everything I can with it.
And with Chris Nolan giving me an opportunity, I’m working with people that I can really learn from.”
Career
Now that Wes Bentley has beaten his drug addiction, he’s become a serious Hollywood heavyweight.
He hit the big time thanks to his moody performance as teen Ricky Fitts in American Beauty, and quickly began to pick up roles in the likes of The Four Feathers and Ghost Rider.

From here, things got difficult for the star as he battled his drug addiction. But he slowly began to make his way back into acting when he landed a part in the off-Broadway premiere of Venus in Furs in 2010.
This put Wes Bentley back on the radar in Hollywood, and he soon snapped up the role as Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games.
After working at his craft and staying clean during filming for 3 Nights in the Desert and After the Fall, Wes Bentley was approached for a part as a scientist in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.
Since then, he’s gone on to become a global star, and is currently appearing in the smash-hit TV show Yellowstone.
