Shortly after this, Tammy and Amy Slaton landed the TLC show 1000-Lb sisters, which would document the pair as they embarked on their weight loss journey.
The show first aired in 2020, and the sisters quickly struck a chord with viewers.
But not everyone was supportive of Tammy and Amy Slaton…
Online Trolls
The sisters have spoken openly about their experiences of online bullying over the years.
They’ve received tons of hateful and critical comments from social media users, and occasionally respond to their trolls.
However, it seems like a lot of their fans have been doing this for them!
Amy took the time to repost one follower’s comment on Instagram:
“This post goes out to Amy Slaton and other ladies being bullied on social media. Stop it! Yes, you trolls and spiteful haters. …
If you don’t like Amy Slaton then don’t watch her channel. Spreading hate and negativity will destroy you [from] within.”
Amy captioned her repost with:
“Y’all are so nice to me, this is just one example of a fan being so kind and supportive. Without y’all Idk where I’d be.”

Despite the online hate, Amy Slaton was determined to lose weight and take her health more seriously.
After cutting out sugar from her diet, she began to embrace low-carb, high protein foods. Her husband Michael helped her along the way, who encouraged her to accompany him on long walks and dance classes. Bless him.
Growing Family
After working hard to shift the pounds across three seasons of the show, Amy Slaton is now down from 406 pounds to 270 pounds.
She successfully lost enough weight to allow her to have surgery. It also allowed her to finally start a family, which is something she wanted to do for a LONG time. Go Amy!
The reality star and husband Michael Halterman made the happy announcement that they were expecting their first child in 2020, and fans were over the moon for them.

Amy revealed that she was expecting in series 2 of 1000-Lb sisters, and she immediately went away and gave herself a boujee pregnancy photoshoot.
“Having a baby means the world to me. It’s everything I’ve always wanted” she explained.
While Amy was optimistic about having a baby, Tammy wasn’t afraid to bring her back to reality.
On a phone call, the two discussed how risky it was for Amy to get pregnant so soon after weight loss surgery.
“I know,” Amy responded after Tammy expressed concerns. “It’s like, I’m scared as hell.'”
Thankfully, all went well for Amy Slaton, and she gave birth to son Gage on November 10th, 2020,
And the star is now pregnant for a second time!
Towards the end of 2021, she revealed that she and Michael would be welcoming a new baby into the family in July. And it seemed like they couldn’t be happier.
Amy doesn’t know the gender of the baby as of yet, but she’ll be updating fans in due course.
