Did Lindsey Shaw Give an Offensive Message on Her TikTok Video? Find More!
Why does Lindsey Shaw defend herself after backlash on TikTok, saying, “Sorry you were offended?”
So, what is the reason? Let’s take a look!
What Mocking Put Lindsey Shaw in Controversy?
Lindsey Shaw is one of the most famous American actresses. The young lady is most familiar with the TV shows. Her first work was “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide of Nickelodeon.”
Her works and contribution to the series were heart-touching and adorable for the audiences. But recently, natives have been talking about this talented actress for a very different reason
Well, according to “insider”, the following incident is backlash over a recently-deleted TikTok video. She posted that previously.
In the video, Lindsey mocked dance moves popular by black content creators and TikTokers. And then, obviously, she got a lot of criticism from her other TikTok posts.
Audiences Were Not Happy!
Many TikTok users immediately claimed that Shaw’s perspective about the dance move was problematic and anti-black. It is because she positively reacted to her former co-star “Devon Werkheiser .”
However, Devon was also in “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.” When he posted the same dance on his TikTok account, she commented on that post as,
“Get it!!!!!”
Indeed, it gives a different opinion with the same activity. Pointing to that, a TikTok user shares a clear statement under the re-uploaded video,
“For anyone confused: She PRAISED her white friend, Devon, for doing the trend but insulted the black creators.”
Lindsey’s Response?
After all the mess, Shaw had to respond about the controversy. She shared a video on her Instagram on Monday, July 12. In the video, she gave her explanation.
“I did not mean anything in any kinda way; I am learning every day as I think everybody is, and this kind of hate just needs to evaporate from the planet no matter who it’s directed towards. Crocodile tears? No, dude, like, this is like, my soul out there. If you know anything what I stand for or what I believe in that you know it’s not this. I am sorry you were offended.”
However, Lindsey Shaw gave her best try to make her audiences and followers understand. She said she didn’t mean that.
Moreover, Shaw tried to apologize by her heart also. Lindsey also announced that she would be leaving her social media life temporarily. She added to the video, saying more.
“I gotta go off here for a little while. But I appreciate you. I love you, and I’ll be back. And I hope that I know more, and I hope we all have a little more compassion and understating.”
Devon Took Lindsey’s Side, Uploading a TikTok Video!
Responding to the fan’s question on that issue, Devon Werkheiser created a TikTok video on his account. He exclaimed like that.
“Lindsey (made) a very unnecessary video hating on the most popular trend on TikTok that happens to be created by Black creator before getting rather reactionary and defensive in her comment section before deleting the video.”
He also added,
“Friends don’t cancel in real life.” But Devon didn’t forget to take her side like a real friend and a professional actor, as said Shaw has a “good heart and is dealing with personal issues.”
