Alex Gerrard, better known as Alex Curran, is something of an “uber-WAG” thanks to her longstanding marriage with her football beau.
The former nail technician was dating businessman Tony Richardson before she met Steven, while he was dating Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison. But at some point in 2002, they swapped relationships; Alex and Steven got together, while Tony and Jennifer hooked up too. We’re not quite sure who made the first move with that one…

Full of glitz, glamour and designer outfits, the beautiful ceremony took place at Cliveden House, Berkshire.
The couple were surrounded by their nearest and dearest- and a fair few A-listers too. Guests included footballers Michael Owen, Jamie Carragher and Jamie and Louise Redknapp.
At this point, Alex Curran’s status started to soar. She landed fashion columns in the Daily Mirror and OK! Magazine, and even scored her own clothing range. She designed two collections for her own brand, as well as a perfume named after herself.

During the course of their marriage, Steven and Alex have had four children together; Lilly-Ella, who is now seventeen, Lexie, aged fifteen, youngest daughter Lourdes, who is eleven, and son Lio, aged four.

But things haven’t come easy for Alex. The former nail technician found things tough during her four pregnancies, and revealed that she would often struggle with mood swings.
Chatting with the press, the WAG said:
“It was quite hard in the beginning as I felt so tired and was really moody. It was horrible, actually.
I think the worst stage of your pregnancy is just before your bump starts to show and you just feel bloated and out of shape”.
But Alex quickly got her model body back, and she looks just as stunning as ever.
After having four children, Steven Gerrard’s wife has now taken a step out of the limelight so she can focus on her family- but it hasn’t all been plain sailing…

Steven and Alex have a stunning mansion as their home in Formby, Merseyside. But in 2007, their world turned upside down after their family house was burgled.
Alex Curran and her children’s nanny were watching Steven play football on television when they were confronted by four masked men who had entered their home.
Alex and Steven’s children Lilly and Lexie were asleep upstairs when the raid took place.
The gang demanded jewellery, watches, and the contents of a safe from Alex or they would “take the kids”.

They dragged Alex across the floor as they ransacked the house, but she eventually managed to call the police as the gang fled the scene.
Speaking with the Daily Mirror shortly after the burglary, Alex Curran said:
“It was absolutely terrifying, a horrendous experience.
Lilly and Lexie were my biggest concern. Thankfully, they’re fine as they managed to sleep through the whole thing.
We’ve already got a lot of security here at the house. But we’ll definitely step it up after this so, please God, nothing like this ever happens again.”
