Piers Morgan wife – Mr. and Mrs. Controversy
Piers Morgan is a household name in English television. We’ve heard his candid remarks and eccentric views as co-presenter of Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid since 2015, and even until today. Piers Morgan also has a series of his own talk shows, Piers Morgan’s Life Stories (still ongoing) and Piers Morgan Live. While he always pushes through with the tough but necessary interview questions, Piers Morgan also always tends to talk over his guests from time to time. But we love him anyway because, without him, English TV will never be the same! Today, we’re going to be looking into the television presenter’s life, and talk about Piers Morgan’s wife! Who is the woman behind the Good Morning Britain host? What have they been up to recently? We’ll find out today Piers Morgan wife!
Piers Morgan Wife
Piers Morgan first got married in 1991 to a hospital ward sister, Marion Shalloe.
Together, they had three sons but it didn’t really work out. This led the couple to separate in 2004 and divorce proceedings finalized by 2008.
Two years later, Piers Morgan met his current wife, Celia Walden who was born in Paris and raised in London.
The couple met in 2006 and tied the knot in 2010 in Swinbrook, Oxfordshire. This was around the time Piers became a judge on the famous ITV show Britain’s Got Talent!
You might’ve seen or heard about Walden by now as she’s appeared quite frequently on the telly either alongside her hubby, on social media, or just doing her own thing.
Piers and Celia gave birth to their first child, daughter Elise one year after their marriage.
You’d be happy to know that Elise, Piers’ only daughter, is as blunt as he is, but in a really adorable way!
In an episode of Good Morning Britain that left Susanna Reid in hysterics, Piers shared an email from his daughter while he was doing the show.
He shared:
“Just got a lovely, charming message from my seven-year-old daughter Elise, who watches the programme.
“She just sent me a lovely email saying: ‘Hi pig, you look terrible.'”
We think she will grow up just fine!
Getting to know Piers Morgan wife
A journalist, novelist, and critic, Walden began her career writing for newspapers, much like how Piers began his career too.
Celia Walden’s father was former Conservative MP George Walden.
Celia is a Cambridge graduate. She began her career writing for the Daily Mail, and later became the last editor for The Daily Telegraph’s (now cancelled) Spy section.
Times were a little different back then, and readers were complaining that she was showing too much skin on her byline picture.
That aside, she’s also written features for The Spectator, GQ, and Glamour magazine.
And in 2008, published her very first novel titled Harm’s Way.
Her controversies
Like her hubby, Walden has stirred up her own fair share of controversies.
The most famous one being her 2011 memoir Babysitting George which was on her “rapport’’ with the late football star George Best.
Why was the memoir written and did anyone like it?

We can’t answer the first question, but people close to Best, including his widow and former mistress, claim that the memoir is highly fictional and penned by someone “with a very good imagination”.
Did she or did she not have any relations to the late football star? Maybe we’ll find out in her next memoir?
Moving on to controversy no. 2. In 2015, Celia revealed that she’s been a member of Ashley Madison!
If you don’t know Ashley Madison, it’s an extramarital dating or ‘hookup’ site!
Is there trouble in the Morgan household?
Nonetheless, Walden later clarified that she’s only on the site for ‘research’. (which just so happens to be also what everyone on the site says when they’re eventually caught out)
Meghan Markle interview controversy
In recent celebrity news, the Good Morning Britain host has come under fire for his rant on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s jaw-dropping interview with Oprah Winfrey.
As if the interview itself wasn’t controversial enough, Piers said he “didn’t believe a word” about his former friend a.k.a the Duchess of Sussex’s claim of being suicidal when she was living in the UK.
His cringey and distasteful TV moment were getting complaints left and right, until it reached a record of 57,121 complaints in total!
Suffice to say, people weren’t happy about his insensitive reaction towards mental health.
Later in the show, Piers (again) had a spat with one of his co-presenters and weatherman Alex Beresford, which led him to walk off set while the show was on-air after being called “diabolical”.
Piers Morgan’s wife has his back
Soon after, Piers resigned from the show.
ITV came out with an announcement saying that an investigation is being launched by Ofcom to review its harm and offence rules after receiving over 41,000 complaints in two days.
Meanwhile, Piers Morgan is claiming to be a victim of “cancel culture”.
Luckily, he has his wife to back him up! In a rather humorous way too.
Walden posted a funny parody video of her first morning waking up next to Piers. Something she hasn’t done in a while since he’s always up by 4am to be at the studio at 6am.
How will this all play out? Will Piers return to present Good Morning Britain? Is this goodbye to him forever?
We’ll keep an eye (and ears) out and bring you the deets again once the story unfolds!
