Stephen Ringer also wrote, produced, and directed a short film featuring Aly and AJ. Weepah Way for Now is a comedy-drama film about two sisters who are living on their own for the first time and trying to find their way in the world.

Aly and Stephen Ringer met on the set of the film Sequoia in 2012, for which Stephen did the cinematography. Aly starred as the main character Riley, a troubled girl who takes a solo trip into Sequoia National Park after getting bad news.
Just a year and a half, the pair confirmed their engagement. Aly Michalka was then 25 years old, and Stephen Ringer was 28 years old.
Their Relationship Story
Aly Michalka announced the news of her engagement on Instagram, where she posted a picture of her stunning engagement ring. She captioned the image: ‘Wanted to share the exciting news! Feel very blessed to know such a great love #engaged’
They married in June 2015 at the Belmond Hotel Splendido in Portofino. This quiet town is on the Italian Riviera, a region famed for its beauty.
For the outdoor wedding, Aly dressed in a fairytale-like pale lilac wedding dress, while Stephen kept it simple with a navy suit.
Friends and family posted pictures of the occasion on Instagram with the caption “Put a ringer on it,” a play on Stephen’s surname.

In one video, Aly blows a kiss to her waiting friends as she prepares to walk down the aisle in her beautiful gown. It featured a beaded headband and a trailing veil to complete the fairytale look.
The couple said their vows underneath a pagoda strung with purple flowers, matching Aly’s delicate dress.
Elliot Ross took their official wedding photographs, and provide more details about their happy day. Bridesmaids wore navy to match with the groom’s suit, and they all held a bouquet of purple flowers to match Aly.
Aly and Stephen Ringer also posed for photos on the balcony at the Belmond Hotel Splendido, the quaint harbour of Portofino offering the perfect backdrop to their Mediterranean wedding.

We know where 32-year-old Aly Michalka is at the moment in life – but what of Aly & AJ?
They’re best known for their 2007 hit ‘Potential Breakup Song’ from their third album Insomniatic. After that, they took a break from music, with both sisters broadening their acting careers.
Aly starred in major films like Easy A and Grown Ups 2, while AJ Michalka has appeared in Super 8 and the TV show The Goldbergs.
They returned to music in 2017, releasing an EP entitled Ten Years.
Finally, in 2021 they released their first album for 14 years, A Touch of the Beat Gets You Up on Your Feet Gets You Out and Then Into the Sun.
