Vernon Kay is one of Britain’s best-loved TV presenters. Starting on CBBC, he progressed to presenting well-known shows like All Star Family Fortunes and hosting a BBC Radio 1 show.
Behind the scenes, Vernon Kay has also had a very public relationship with presenter Tess Daly.
But what do we know about Vernon’s family? And how many kids does Vernon Kay have?
Who is Vernon Kay Married To?
Vernon Kay has been married to presenter Tess Daly for 18 years. They met in the early 2000s working on the same T4 show.
Vernon and Tess soon became one of TV’s high-profile couples, and fans loved to see them attending red carpet events together.
The couple got married in 2003 in Vernon’s hometown of Horwich. They had a few famous guests at their wedding, including Big Brother winner Brian Dowling and T4 host June Sarpong.
Speaking about the beginning of their relationship, Tess has revealed: “It was all quite immediate, really, because we instantly had such a blast together.
I couldn’t imagine having more fun with anyone else. It was pretty explosive, I tell you.”

From Model to Presenter: How Tall is Vernon Kay?
In 2010, the couple made the news after Vernon was caught up in a sexting scandal with Page 3 model Rhian Sugden. This all came to light just one year after Vernon Kay’s second kid was born.
Vernon was caught sending flirty and explicit texts to the model. He later apologised live on BBC Radio 1, saying: “I’ve disappointed and let down my family and for that I am very sorry.”
However, Vernon and Tess are now adamant that they have recovered from the scandal. Most recently, Vernon claimed: “All that stuff is in the past, we’ve forgotten about that, we’ve moved on. It’s all gone. It’s disappeared.”
How Many Kids Does Vernon Kay Have?
Vernon Kay actually has two kids with Tess Daly. They are 16-year-old Phoebe and 12-year-old Amber.
After years of keeping both their daughters out of the public eye, last year Tess revealed a lovely family portrait on Instagram. She posted the photo as Vernon Kay entered the jungle on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Here!.
Explaining hers and Vernon’s reason for keeping their kids out of the spotlight, Tess said:
“They’re a bit older now, so we have always protected them from being in the public eye, just because I thought when they were so young, they don’t choose to be in that spotlight.
It’s not their choice and your instinct as a parent is to protect them from everything.”

Buddy Bob Fletcher: All About McFly’s Tom Fletcher’s Kids
This year, Tess and Vernon Kay revealed some insights about their parenting style. For example, the couple won’t let their children use screens 30 minutes before bed.
As well as that, if they want to use Google or YouTube they have to do it with their parents present.
Tess explained: “We’ve put all the child safety settings in place, but you still can’t predict what might turn up on a YouTube or Google search.”
What is Vernon Kay Doing Now?
Fans may remember Vernon Kay from his time presenting T4 or All-Star Family Fortunes in the noughties, but 20 years later Vernon is still on our screens.
Last year, Vernon took part in the twentieth series of I’m A Celeb. He was joined at Gwrych Castle by other celebs including Giovanna Fletcher and Shane Richie.
Vernon did well on the show, making it to the final three along with Giovanna and BBC Radio 1 host Jordan North. However, it was Tom Fletcher’s wife who was finally crowned Queen of the Jungle.

Vernon Kay Net Worth: From Radio to TV
Elsewhere, Vernon still hosts a regular show for BBC Radio 2 and has also stepped into the world of daytime TV.
This year, the presenter hosted a very special edition of Loose Women called Loose Men. Joining him were Iain Stirling, Ore Oduba, and Mike Tindall.
On the show – produced especially for International Men’s Day – the hosts discussed men’s mental health and other male issues.
Fans praised the show, saying it was refreshing and calling for it to be a regular weekly item.
