Tish Cyrus: Who is Miley Cyrus’ Mom?
Tish Cyrus has kept things pretty quiet compared to her family of stars, but she has way more going on than just being mom to Hannah Montana!
Not only has she been a wonderful partner to Billy Ray Cyrus, but Tish has had a super eventful life, with a tonne of her own projects and passions.

Tish Cyrus:
Tish Cyrus was born May 15th 1967 in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was named Leticia Jean Finley by parents Glenmore Finley and Loretta Jean Palmer.
Not a lot is known about her education and early life, but she definitely made it big later on in life after she became a successful actress and producer.
Cyrus has produced films starring Miley, being the executive producer of The Last Song.
She also produced the films LOL and So Undercover, and is Miley’s manager.
(However, she later threatened to quit her role as Miley’s manager to focus on her cannabis advocacy).
Tish is also known to have starred in the TV show Cyrus vs. Cyrus: Design and Conquer.
A lot of her work is on projects starring her family members, with the proud mom of five posting regular updates of her kids on social media.
Her most recent post features her youngest daughter 22-year-old singer Noah Cyrus.
Tish shared a picture of Noah celebrating her birthday, and it looked like so much fun!
The Make Me (Cry) singer was wearing a beaaaaauuutiful while gown with a plunging neckline and statement white cape.
The post read: “My beautiful Noie…. You have grown so much this past year and I couldn’t be more proud of you. I hope you know how much you are loved. I cannot wait to see what this year holds for you! 22 in 22. Sounds magical. I love you @noahcyrus”
To which Noah replied “I love u mommy.”
They sound like one tight knit family. Here’s to turning 22 in 22 Noah!
Billy Ray Cyrus:
To get to know more about Tish’s famous brood, you have to know where things all began, starting with her relationship with country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.
The two met in the early 90s and were married for over 25 years.
Tish and Billy’s love story is straight out of a romantic comedy.
Things were complicated as both Tish and the Achy Breaky Heart singer had come out of previous marriages when they first got together.
Tish has been married at 19 to a local drummer named Baxter Neal Helson.
Tish and Baxter had two children Brandi and Trace Cyrus, who where later adopted by Billy.
After things has ended with their previous partners Billy and the Nashville producer decided to marry in secret.
Reports say this happened due to Billy’s record company being opposed to their union.
However, by this point, their first child together had already been born – Miley Ray Cyrus!
Rocky romance:
The two had their highs and lows during their very public romance.
It seems the pressure got to them as on October 26th 2010, Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from Tish.
Both cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for filing.
In a statement made to People the next day announcing the split, Billy and Tish said, “As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family… We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.”
However, in March the following year, Billy announced he had dropped the divorce, only for Tish to file in 2013, this time after 19 years of marriage.
Thankfully a few months later they had gone to couples therapy and found their spark once again!
Whatever happens, it’s clear family and kids are everything to these two!
Miley and family:
Tish gave birth to Miley (born Destiny Hope Cyrus), On December 28th 1993.
Not only was she amazing in Disney channel’s Hannah Montanna, she also followed in her dad’s footsteps and had an amazing singing career.
Miley scored the most US Billboard 200 top-five albums in the 21st century by a female artist.
She is the most famous of Tish’s children and continues to make headlines on the daily!
Her sister Noah has also had a successful career shooting to fame in 2016 when she released her debut single “Make Me (Cry)“

Tish Cyrus cannabis controversy…
While a family of superstars are bound to be unconventional, Tish’s attitude to cannabis is surprising to some.
In 2019, the 51-year-old posed next to a cabinet overflowing with bags of weed, in a picture shared by her husband to social media.
“Like I said yesterday @TishCyrus…. my how the times they are a changing #CrAzYMaMa,” he wrote.
Furthermore, During an interview with Andy Cohen, Miley said that her mother “smokes a lot of weed” and even threatened to quit as her manager and start a cannabis company.
