Surgeon-Gynecologist
Although this isn’t the most outlandish of positions the Queen has under her, it would be awfully cool (and convenient) to have a doctor on call at all times. Currently, this position has been held by Dr. Alan Farthing since 2008, and before that, it was Marcus Setchell.
Strewer of Herbs
People are stinky. People who don’t bathe and wear the same clothes over and over again are doubly stinky. The role of the Strewer of Herbs was to put pleasant smelling flowers and herbs throughout the royal living areas to decrease the BO smell as well as the smell of the River Thames (which before sewers came into action, had been dirty and stinky). This position was traditionally held by a woman from the time it began in the late 1600s until Queen Victoria’s time.
Royal Shoe-Wearer
In reality, this position is actually a part of the Queen’s royal dressers, but wouldn’t it be awesome if the Queen had one person royally designated as her shoe-wearer? Having suffered through some pretty terrible blisters, I think that the shoe-wearer deserves her own title! The lady who wears the Queen’s shoes makes sure that the Queen doesn’t get any blisters or pinched toes.
