High Constables and Guard of Honour of the Palace of Holyroodhouse

This isn’t just one position, but a small group of ceremonial guards at the Sovereign’s palace in Edinburgh. They’ve been around since the early 1500s and still share the responsibilities of the palace and the Holyrood Abbey Sanctuary.

Although a low-ranking servant isn’t all that odd around royalty, the weird part to this is that these Pages are children. Child labor anyone? Thankfully, they don’t do a lot of work, primarily holding the Queen’s train and occasionally attending state occasions. I guess carrying the Queen’s train isn’t the worst first job you could get.
