This position has a lot of duties. They are visitor’s personal servants, but during official events at the Palace, they stand at the Grand Entrance and make sure everyone finds where they’re going. Plus, they stand by the Privy Purse door and make sure the daily red boxes are properly received and sent out.
Surveyor of the Queen’s Works of Art

This position consists of looking at the art that the Queen owns and making sure that they’re maintained and cared for. Around since 1928 (before that it was called the Surveyor of the King’s Pictures), it was officially made full time in 1972.
