This is a senior appointment in the Royal Air Force, the Royal Australian Air Force, or the Indian Air Force and they would act as a confidante and assistant to the senior officer. There are also variations as this is the British Army’s equivalent position to the aide-de-camp general. But doesn’t ‘Air aide-de-camp’ sound way cooler than ‘Aide-de-camp?’
“The Gentleman (or Lady) Usher of the Black Rod” aka “Black Rod”

The Black Rod is an official in the parliaments of several Commonwealth countries. This position is in charge of the security and fixing up buildings in the Westminster Palace. The first female Black Rod, Sarah Clarke, was introduced early in 2018.
