(Image/ Source: sussexlive.co.uk)

Romesh Ranganathan is one of our favourite comedians around. If he’s not making us cackle in one of his panel appearances, he’s keeping us entertained with his travel docuseries The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan.

But who exactly is the comedian married to?

Let’s get the lowdown…

Romesh Ranganathan Wife

Romesh Ranganathan’s wife is Leesa Ranganathan- and they make quite the power couple.

The pair met years ago while they were both working at Hazelwick School in Crawley. Leesa was a drama teacher, and Romesh taught maths.

Romesh and Leesa decided to marry back in 2009, and they’ve never looked back.

The couple now have three children together; Theo, Alex, and Charlie.

And it seems that Leesa is completely unfazed when Romesh talks about their relationship in his stand-up routines and columns- even when he talks about the more intimate parts of their marriage…

Romesh once wrote in his column:

“One part of my routine detailed my sex life, or lack thereof, with my wife, Leesa.

Obviously, I hadn’t honed it by that point, so it was a pretty frank discussion of what Leesa and I were experiencing passion-wise.

I have a vivid memory of seeing her face in the audience, looking completely calm, and then glancing across to our friends, who looked utterly horrified at the prospect of going out for dinner with a couple they now knew were definitely not having sex when they got home.”

Rather you than us Leesa…

But it seems that she doesn’t take it to heart.

Romesh said:

“People often ask me if she minds me talking about her, but she genuinely sees it all as just comedy, and therefore meaningless.”

Partnership

While Romesh is quick to make jokes about his relationship with Leesa, the pair are absolutely rock solid.

The comedian has spoken about how much his wife means to him, and said he never would have taken to stand-up if it weren’t for her support.

In an interview with Marie Claire, the star said:

“When I started doing stand-up, I resigned from my job as a maths teacher and, three days before I was due to leave, my dad passed away.

I wasn’t able to focus on work, we couldn’t pay the bills and our car was taken away, but Leesa never showed a lack of faith.

“Being a comedian is a very vacuous thing to decide to do – but she came to all my shows and gave me feedback. Without her support I wouldn’t have been a comedian.”

And it seems like Leesa is just as grateful to Romesh as he is to her.

She’s written her own witty columns about her comedian hubby over the years, and has managed to sum up her entire marriage in just a few sentences.

Writing in the Guardian, Leesa quipped:

“He has got it spot on about being too tired to have an affair. The thought of shaving my legs and not being able to be myself in front of someone new just seems like a lot of effort. Also, I love Romesh. But it is a lot to do with the leg shaving.”

Family Life

With three outgoing boys, Romesh and Leesa definitely have their hands full!

And Romesh has joked that he regrets having three children…

The stand-up said:

“I regret having three children! My middle son (Alex) is so difficult and opinionated, I’ve actually grown to respect his terrible behaviour. He walks around our house like a little rock star.

Recently he didn’t want to go on a family trip to the cinema, so sat with his hands over his ears facing away from the screen for the whole movie. I admired him for sticking to his guns.”
