When Did Mo Farah and His Wife Meet?

The couple’s meet-cute started early on. They first met in elementary school when Tania was 11 and Mo was 12.

Their special bond started out early on as friends always seeing each other. They lived right around the corner from each other and frequently visited each other’s houses.

When they weren’t seeing each other, they would always speak on the phone. “Tania was one person I’d talk to, we were really good friends, I’d go round her house, all the time I’d be on the phone to her,” Mo shares about their friendship.

Who is Mo Farah’s Wife?

Tania Farah or formerly Tania Nell is the British wife of track star Mo Farah. Her parents Robert and Nadia Nell raised her and her brother, Colin in London.

She had a long-term relationship with Mo, briefly lost touch with each other before their serendipitous reunion. They shortly got engaged and have been married since 2010.

During their split apart, Tania had a daughter Rhianna Farah who was 2-years old when she married Mo Farrah.

They lived in Portland Oregon from 2011-2017 with their 4 children – Rhianna, Aisha, Amani, and Hussein when Mo was signed to train with Nike Oregon Project.

After the stint, they moved back home to London at the end of 2017 realizing they wanted to raise their children in their home.

“Tania and I realized how much we have missed spending time with our friends and family and the kids are so happy here, too. We want the kids to grow up in the UK. It’s the right thing to do for my family.”

Mo is the most successful British athlete to ever live. He is now a double World Champion and 10-time European Champion in track and field. Mo is the record holder for the 10,000 m, half marathon, marathon, and two miles, the British record holder for the 5000 m, among others.

Without fail, he always has his wife to thank for his dreams coming true. Mo told Piers Morgan in an interview once,

“It’s a good thing I have Tania. If I didn’t have a family and everything, I wouldn’t be where I am.”

His wife is the most supportive of his career. They spend many months apart because of Mo’s extensive training regimes. Tania takes all the time to raise and take care of their kids while Mo is training.

When winning his Olympic medal, Mo shared a sweet photo on his Instagram with Rhianna and Tania with a caption saying,

“Oh, my days…!! I did it for Rhianna.. My daughter!!! This is for my family!”

Rhianna is the eldest daughter who’s now 16-years old and is taking the height of her mom and dad. Although she’s not Mo’s biological father, he treats her as his own daughter.
