Larry Bird is probably one of the greatest baseball players of all time, but to Mariah Bird, he’s just plain old dad.
Larry and his wife Dinah Mattingly adopted Mariah when she was a baby, and she’s gone on to have a stable family life with her adopted siblings.

Mariah Bird
Mariah Bird tends to live her life away from the spotlight, but from what’s known about her, it seems she’s a pretty keen cheerleader!
The few pictures of her online show Mariah in her element as she’s performing routines with her team.
Nobody knows exactly how old Mariah is, but it’s generally thought she was born in the 1990s.
The cheerleader is a graduate of Boston University located in Boston, Massachusetts, where she gained a bachelor’s degree in Science in Recreation.
Mariah then kept up the family tradition of attending Indiana University of Bloomington before settling into her professional career.
She’s now an events manager at Pacers Sports & Entertainment.

Arrest
Larry Bird’s adoptive son was arrested after police say he tried to run over his ex-girlfriend with a car.
This wasn’t the first time that Connor had ended up in trouble with the police. Back in 2011, he was charged with disorderly conduct and illegal consumption of alcohol.
His ex-girlfriend told an officer that Bird threw a phone at her and drove his car at her during an argument. A report says police arrested Connor after tracking down his vehicle.
Connor faced charges, including battery with injury and possession of marijuana.
Police had also initially charged him with intimidation with a deadly weapon. But the charge wasn’t actually filed in the end.
Apparently this was because there wasn’t enough evidence to prove Connor that tried to run his ex-girlfriend over.

A deal was made to reduce Connor’s charges. If he successfully completed a 12-month compliance agreement, then the case against him would be dismissed. This meant that Connor Bird needed to take part in a mentoring programme and complete counselling sessions.
Larry Bird has never spoken about the incident.
Famous Dad
Before he retired, Larry Bird was an all-star basketball player who is to be considered one of the greatest shooters of all time.
The Celtics’ legendary playmaker is the only person in NBA history to win MVP, Coach of the Year and Executive of the Year in a career. Impressive stuff!
He started playing as a rookie back in the 70s, and won the Rookie of the Year award for contributing to one of the single biggest NBA turnarounds in history.
