Nate Mcintyre on Queer Eye:

The fifth season of American reality TV show Queer Eye saw Macy Gray’s brother Nate Mcintyre shoot to the spotlight.

Before his Queer eye debut, 44-year-old Nate was better known for being the brother of singer, actress and producer Macy Gray.

However, since appearing on the show, fans were left wanting to know more about Nate.

On the 10th episode of season 5, Antoni investigated moldy food in the fridge and compared the jars in Nate’s freezer to “when Han Solo gets stuck in that cast resin thing.”

Bobby was super confused at the home furnishing and Jonathan was more than shocked at the bathroom situation.

He said “It’s just a jimble-jamble of all this stuff all over the bathroom and he’s got his Waterpik right all up in there with everyone’s shardicles flying all up in the air. No, no, no!”

Of course the Fab 5 on the Queer Eye gave a total makeover on Nate’s business, as well as his personal fashion style.

And we have to say it, he looked great!

Here is what we know about him.

Gym ownership:

Many people will know that Nate is a very successful businessman, being the founder of Bodyrock gym in West Philadelphia .

On the Netflix show Queer eye, Nate’s gym received a much-needed transformation.

The place offers a range of training programmes such as individual workouts, boot camps and high-intensity training.

He launched the company nearly 14 years ago, and similar to other featured businesses on Queer Eye was in an urgent need of transformation and new look.

However, when it comes to the workouts, Nate likes to keep things old school.

The Bodyrock gym website says: “We specialize in seriously fun and effective back-to-basics core fitness training. At the center of our program is the belief that before you attempt to master heavy weights or expensive machines, you must first master your body.  We’re old school…We don’t follow trends or fads. We don’t let others define or limit our potential. And we never judge the potential of others, because we truly believe that each of us has the power to achieve all of our dreams, and literally change the world! If you were to ask a big-name gym franchise about what we do every day, they’d probably ask ‘why are they still doing those same old-school workouts that our dads did?’ Our answer is ‘because it works…’”

Nate’s early career:

Looking at his LinkedIn profile, it emerged that Nate first worked as an assistant tour manager for a touring company before landing a job as a trainer.

In 2006, Nate took the leap and opened his own gym and never looked back.

The profile also says he graduated from Villanova Univesity, though he hasn’t listed the course he studied.

Nate now:

During the height of the Covid pandemic things must have been difficult for Nate and his business.

Many people quit the gym and opted for home workouts in a bid to stay safe.

However, Nate refused to loose focus.

During the lockdown period, Nate branched out to reach his gym lovers from the comfort of their own homes.

Nate created a lot of workout videos and training tips that he shared to his followers on Bodyrock’s Instagram page.

Instagram is the place where Nate launches regular transformation challenges for those who want to take their fitness on a new level.

Following his appearance on Netflix’s popular Queer eye show, Nate made the most of his fame and used it to grow his business on social media.

Using all the Queer Eye hashtags, Nate wrote: “Firstly I want to say thank you for all the love I have been receiving since the release of my appearance on @queereye . Songwriting:

It seems Nate has also taken a leaf out of his sister’s book as he has also been writing songs.

He performed one he had written on Instagram.

He captioned the clip with an explanation, explaining he’s been trying to include more self care in his life, encouraging his followers to do the same.

He said: “I’ve been working on my self care… (and writing songs about it too). So this is the Selfcare Song (Baby I Try) and I’ve never shared music that I’ve been in the process of making before, but felt different because it’s fitness/wellness related. And it’s kind like a personal journal entry for myself. Anyway totally feel free to give ideas, thoughts and feedback cause you might help me make a hit. Also feel free share any personal thoughts and feelings you have about your personal selfcare journey/routine. Thanks – Nate”
