Linda Carter baby: What is the name of Eastenders star Kellie Bright’s baby?
Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter is back on the set of Eastenders after having a third child. The baby was born after roller coaster IVF journey. Here’s the latest on her baby.
Linda Carter star’s baby and IVF journey:
Linda Carter star Kellie Bright recently had a baby after falling pregnant again aged 44.
Rudy Joy Stocker was born on 22 July at 4.05pm, weighing 7lbs 14oz.
She conceived a baby with husband Paul Stocker after what she called a “rollercoaster” IVF journey.
Kellie told OK!: “The first two embryos didn’t work. This baby inside me now was the last one we had – the last chance of a pregnancy, because at 44 we were not going through IVF again. I believe it was meant to be. But those three months, between September and November, were a real roller coaster. Having a baby aged over 40 has proven controversial over the years.”
However, Kellie has hit back at those who might criticise her for having a baby at her age.
She said: “If I was a man having my third child at 44, no one would bat an eyelid.”
Kellie Bright family:
Kellie and Paul already have sons Freddy, nine, and Gene, four.
The Linda Carter star welcomed her first baby Freddy naturally aged 34, before having IVF in her second pregnancy.
However, she said she’d “always had an itch” for another child.
After Gene was born, Kellie stored three extra embryos.
After failed pregnancy attempts with two of them, the final one became the couple’s third child.
“Miracle” child Rudy in July last year, with Kellie taking some time away from Eastenders to look after her newborn.
Kellie Bright’s husband:
Kellie says her husband Paul is an amazing dad.
Slightly younger than the Linda Carter actress, father of the baby Paul is still in his 30s.
According to the actress he is full of energy and used to running around after their children.
She explained that the pair decided to try for a third child at the end of 2019 but their plans were put on hold by the coronavirus outbreak.
However, finally the couple have found luck.
Kellie and Paul spend a lot of time together with the latter also making an appearance on the square.
Kellie Bright husband on Eastenders:
The father of the Linda Carter star’s baby Paul actually made an appearance in EastEnders back in 2016.
Paul appeared DS Howard South, a police detective who interrogated killer child Bobby Beale over the murder of his sister Lucy.
Alerting viewers that her hubby would be popping up, Kellie tweeted: “For all u fans, keep a special eye out 4 my hubby in tonight’s ep!! Give you DS Howard South. Sadly Linda and Howard never meet,” she added with a sad face emoji and a broken heart emoji.
However, that’s not the only time Paul has been seen on the soap, as fans were surprised to see him in August last year during a robbery at the Queen Vic.
Viewers were initially confused over the lack of social distancing when a robber grabbed Linda Carter, who was pregnant with another baby at the time, and covered her mouth with his hand.
However, fans soon realised who the attacker really was when the credits rolled, with one tweeting: “I thought I recognised the name of the thug who attacked Linda, it’s Paul Stoker, Kellie Bright’s husband!”
Kellie Bright career:
Outside of being a mum, Kellie Bright is a very successful UK actress.
Soap star Kellie has been an EastEnders star since 2013, when she joined Albert Square as Mick Carter’s wife Linda.
The Linda Carter star told her bosses she was having a baby early on that that they have granted her time off.
And her latest pregnancy hasn’t stopped her from joining in with all the drama in Albert Square.
Linda Carter’s Eastenders return:
Kellie recently admitted she she “loved” filming fight scenes with co-star Charlie Brooks, who’s character is the current rival of her character Linda Carter.
On Kellie’s return to the soap, thinks really kicked off between Linda and Janine, who are both competing for Kellie’s ex Mick.
Speaking about the scenes, Kellie Bright told New magazine: “Janine and Linda going head-to-head is great fun. I love it. Partly because I love Charlie – she is lovely as a real person – and also because I love the character of Janine.”
Kellie returned to the set of EastEnders earlier on this month after taking some time off to have a baby.
Although she loves being back on the show, Kellie told the Mirror she felt “apprehensive” about coming back after her maternity leave.
“Coming back after a break is always a little bit scary. I definitely had some nerves at the beginning but I also felt comfortable really quickly because I am with people who I love, who are like my family. The slight apprehension about coming back disappeared quickly and I can truly say I’ve loved being back at work.”
Advice for her character:
In real life, Kellie Bright couldn’t be more different from her troubled character on the soap.
While Kellie is glad to be back at work and a doting mum, Linda’s family is falling apart as she struggles with her alcohol addiction.
Asked what advice she would give to her character, she explained: “What I would say to her is look, the first thing you need to do is stop drinking because you cannot fix anything else while you are still drinking.
