Kathy Travis might not be as famous as her wife Suze Orman, but she’s had a glittering career in her own right.

Kathy Travis
Kathy Travis is a Daytime Emmy Award winning TV producer and business manager. She produced her wife’s TV show, and also managed the CNBC hosts team.
While she hasn’t actually worked in front of the camera, she hasn’t been afraid to make the occasional appearance on the Suze Orman Show over the years. And when the pair got married, Kathy became much more relaxed in the public eye.
Before they met though, things were tough for both Kathy and Suze.
Kathy was raised in Hong Kong, which was especially difficult for LGBT communities. Her wife Suze revealed that Kathy’s upbringing in Asia made her develop a formal approach to her sexuality because she had hidden it for so many years.
The producer then started to build a successful career in brand management. She served as president of one of Asia’s biggest brand-building agencys before she eventually called it quits after 20 years.

In the early 2000s, Kathy Travis then met her future wife Suze Orman, who was working as a financial advisor at the time.
And it didn’t take long for the pair to hit things off!
Relationship Timeline
While things were peachy between the pair, Suze and Kathy decided to keep their relationship under wraps for a fair few years.
Suze Orman was building her career as a TV financial advisor, and she didn’t actually come out until 2007.
Suze made the brave decision to speak openly to the press about her sexuality, and said that this has actually helped her get where she is today.
“Being gay has been the foundation of my success… What allowed me to be strong is because I had already had to be strong as a lesbian”.
Three years after coming out, Suze and Kathy decided to tie the knot in a gorgeous ceremony in South Africa. And it seems like they’ve been blissfully happy ever since.

While Kathy Travis does her best to avoid interviews, wife Suze has been on hand to tell the world just how much she loves being married.
Chatting with Oprah Winfrey, the financial advisor said:
“The greatest dream, I think, that any and all of us have is, will we ever find our soul mate?
I found KT at the age of 50… KT is truly the light of my life. She keeps me going in ways that I never thought.”

It’s safe to say that Suze Orman worked hard to get to the top.
The financial advisor started out as a waitress after she’d finished college. She’d been struggling with a speech impediment for most of her life, and earned just $400 a month.
After working at a café for seven years, Suze decided to get a loan from friends and business owners that she’d met while waitressing. Her loan totalled $52,000, and she invested the money in the stock market to help her start her own business.
However, this ended up backfiring massively. She lost all her cash after a stockbroker put all her investment into a high-risk but high-investment trading option that was only suitable for high net worth individuals.

Her disappointment led Suze to develop an interest in finance, and she was soon climbing the ladder.
She’s since started her own finance group, and has released over ten best-selling finance books.
Suze then bagged her own money advice show on CNBC in 2002, and it ran until 2015.
The former TV star then retired at 65 years old, and now spends her time with wife Kathy Travis at their luxury home in the Bahamas.
