Judge Rinder Husband: Is the TV Star Still Married?

He’s become one of the UK’s favourite daytime TV stars, with his non-nonsense approach captivating an army of fans. But his real-life courtroom series hasn’t been able to shift the spotlight away from Judge Rinder’s husband.
Judge Rob Rinder was married in a civil partnership for four years before things went wrong for the couple. So what exactly happened?

Judge Rinder’s husband was fellow barrister Seth Cummings, who was also a one-time political advisor to former Chancellor George Osborne.
Rob and Seth had been in a committed long-term relationship before they decided to tie the knot. But when the time came, they did so in dramatic style!
Rob’s best pal Benedict Cumberbatch had been specially ordained to marry the couple, who had been together for eleven years previously.
Benedict and Rob had met at the University of Manchester, and immediately hit things off.

It seemed like Benedict was honoured to be a part of the ceremony in Ibiza, and spoke openly to the press about the civil partnership.
“It’s a very private, lovely thing to be asked to do.
Of course, I’m going to make a joke after it, ‘I do weddings. Next will be children’s parties and bat mitzvahs.
It’s a mainly Jewish and gay audience, so hopefully they will be lenient towards me.”
Rob and Seth apparently tried to keep their wedding under wraps, but found that snaps of their wedding got leaked to the press after they were uploaded to social media.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Rob Rinder said:
“We got married, it’s no secret, but no one was supposed to know – somebody put the pictures on Facebook.”
Break Up
While Rob and his partner Seth seemed the picture of happiness, there was far more going on behind the scenes.
In 2018, Judge Rinder and his husband decided to go their separate ways, devasting their fans.
It was a hugely difficult time for Rob, who starred in Strictly Come Dancing at the time of his marriage breakdown.

At the time a source told The Sun:
“It’s very sad news but Rob is separating from his partner of 11-and-a-half years. He’s very upset about the situation, but the split is amicable and no one else is involved.
Rob has never spoken about his relationship and nothing will change on that front.
He very much wants to focus on his work, including Judge Rinder on ITV which he absolutely adores.”
It’s been presumed that Judge Rinder is now currently single.
Career
While Rob’s marriage didn’t quite work out, he’s been able to throw himself into his work to get him through.
He’s been busy making appearances on Celebrity Gogglebox, as well as Good Morning Britain.
Rob Rinder also bagged himself a new Channel 4 show in 2019 called Rob Rinder’s Verdict.

But while he’s often referred to as a judge- he isn’t actually a qualified one in real life!
The TV star originally trained as a criminal barrister before he started writing his own TV scripts.
His pitch of a remake of 1970’s TV show Crown Court was rejected, but he was then offered the main role in the UK version of Judge Judy instead. And the rest, of course, is history.
But the star’s career was temporarily halted after he contracted coronavirus in 2020.
During the UK’s first lockdown, Rob Rinder suffered “appalling” symptoms, and likened them to “being in a coma”:
“Terrible temperature, appalling cough and lying with my feet on the ground.
My head on the bed, in a coma watching the Kardashians. So I must have been really ill.”
We’re very glad he’s made a recovery!
