The actress’ son is now six years old, and he’s already winning plenty of hearts!

Hunter Zion Bell was born in 2016 to parents Jurnee and Josiah Bell not too long after they got hitched.
The couple, who had been friends for years before they started dating, tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony in 2010.

Jurnee and Josiah were super keen to start a family, and the pair seem absolutely devoted to Hunter Zion Bell. In fact, the former child star admits that it’s hard to “pinpoint one thing” she loves most about being a new mum!
“He’s teaching me so much about myself. He’s teaching me so much about love. I see myself in him, and I start to love that about myself even more.
“It’s like I see the world differently now, through his eyes. He makes me reassess, really, what matters.”
Divorce
While Hunter Zion Bell’s parents seemed like the picture of happiness, things were about to take a dramatic turn.
Last year, Jurnee Smollett filed for divorce from her husband of ten years, which came as a bit of a shock to fans.
Nobody really knows Jurnee’s reason for the divorce, but apparently she processed the paperwork shortly after her brother reappeared on social media.
Jussie Smollett has been on a hiatus ever since he allegedly faked a hate crime back in 2019.
This seems to have been weighing on Jurnee’s mind, and described her brother’s court proceedings as “f*****g painful”.
And to make matters worse, the legal proceedings of Jurnee and Josiah’s divorce is getting pretty messy right now.

The former couple were warned by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to settle the case, or risk it being thrown out entirely.
According to court documents, the presiding judge said:
“Your case is not complete until the judgment has been filed and entered… if you fail to take the appropriate steps in your case, the Court may dismiss your case for delay in prosecution.”
Although it’s not clear what’s holding up their court proceedings, fans have got their hopes up that Jurnee and Josiah will end up reconciling.
So will the couple’s divorce actually end up going through?

Jurnee’s Career
While Jurnee’s having a bit of a tough time right now, she’s continuing to immerse herself in her work.
At the moment she’s working on a standalone Black Canary movie, and she’s also joined Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones in Amazon Studios’ courtroom drama project The Burial.
And it’s safe to say that she’s had a pretty amazing career so far.
The star’s career took off when she was a young age- eight years old to be precise!
The child actress first appeared in TV series Martin and Out All Night, before scoring parts in ABC’s family sitcoms like Full House and Hangin’ With Mr Cooper.
