Getting to Know Kate Danson

Kate Danson has been busy making her mark with her acting skills. And it seems like her career is going from strength to strength.
While she’s yet to surpass her father’s fame (more on this later) she’s been starring in absolutely everything from Crime Scene Investigation to Alien Theory.
Let’s find out more about Kate Danson.
Kate Danson
Kate was born on Christmas eve, 1979, which makes her 42 now. And she still looks absolutely amazing!
She has a younger adopted sister called Alexis, and her stepbrother happens to be Charlie McDowell. An esteemed director in his own right, he’s probably best known for his film The One I Love.
This means Kate is also stepsister to Lilly McDowell, who has starred in the likes of Made of Honour and The Manchurian Candidate.
It’s therefore no great surprise that Kate ended up going into acting just like her famous family. She first appeared in Dr Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, a mini TV series that won rave reviews.

Kate also appeared in CSI in 2013 as a guest star, and portrayed lawyer Jill McDermott.
Her character was helping the case of a serial killer, and she ended up going head to head with dad Ted Danson in a heated exchange. It made pretty compelling viewing!
But it isn’t just acting that Kate Danson focuses on. She’s also been able to showcase her talents in directing and producing, and has specialised in creating short films such as Sunder and The Wrights.
And last year, she worked as a director on the film Everything I Wanted to Tell My Daughter About Men, which premiered at the Austin Film Festival.
But Kate isn’t as keen on working in TV and film as she used to be. She now also works as a photographer, and is trained as a doula (someone who supports women through pregnancy and childbirth). She’s a busy lady!
Love Life
Kate Danson came to further fame after it was revealed she was dating TV and film producer Jesse Bochco. He also happens to be the son of famed Hollywood producer Stephen Bochco.
Nobody’s really sure when Kate and Jesse started their relationship. They were notoriously private about their love lives, but it’s generally thought that the couple started dating in 2008.

Jesse proposed just over a year after they started dating. Apparently it was a super romantic affair.
Ted Danson and the rest of the family looked on from an upstairs window as the producer got down on one knee for his daughter, who was completely overwhelmed!
A year or so later, the pair got married in a fairly low-key ceremony in LA. But unfortunately, things weren’t set to last between Kate and Jesse.
The couple ended up divorcing after five years of marriage.
Their reason for their split was never disclosed, but a summary of the case ended up appearing online a few years later.
Apparently Kate was the one who had filed for divorce.
Famous Father
While Kate’s been doing fairly well for herself, her father Ted Danson has gone on to become one of the most recognised actors and producers around.
After hitting the big time in the comedy show Cheers, Ted’s career had a meteoric rise.
He’s been in tons and tons of TV series including Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Good Place, as well as hit movies Three Men and a Baby and Saving Private Ryan.
