Modern Family skyrocketed Ty Burrell’s fame, and fans have been keen to find out more about the Phil Dunphy actor.
When he isn’t spending time with his on-screen family, he’s busy with wife Holly, and their daughters Greta and Frances Burrell.

Frances Burrell
Back in 2010, Ty Burrell and his wife Holly welcomed their first daughter Frances into their lives.
While it isn’t clear whether Ty and Holly were unable to have children of their own, they decided to take the plunge with adoption ten years into their marriage. And it seemed like it brought Ty and Holly even closer!
Speaking with RedBook Magazine, the actor said:
“There’s lots of problem-solving in any marriage, but when you have this collective goal that is a human being, it’s an inspiring rally point.”

Just two years after adopting Frances, Ty and Holly decided to go one step further and adopt once again.
While the couple had never really intended to adopt one child, things snowballed once Francis came into their lives. And Ty was open about how things happened.
“In a weird way, it wasn’t planned; it’s a weird thing how adoptions can sometimes be as irrational as regular birth.
My wife Holly and I were on an aeroplane on a flight from LA to New York and when we got on the flight we had intended to never have kids.
When we got off in New York, we were crying that we were going to have a kid, so it was unplanned. And then, when we did it again, it was similarly irrational.”

Wife Holly has been managing things at home while Ty’s been busy with Modern Family, but it doesn’t mean to say she hasn’t been forging a career of her own.
Holly Burrell happens to be a super-talented chef, but she started in a similar field to her husband.
She spent time in the entertainment industry after graduating college with a theatre degree, and met her husband at the Shakespeare Theater in Washington DC where they trained together.

But Holly soon started to find her true passions elsewhere. She graduated from a the nine-month pastry program at the French Culinary Institute before taking a job at a bakery.
When the couple relocated to LA when Ty snagged his Modern Family role, Holly has continued to work as pro chef- and Ty is always ready to sing her praises!
“My wife, Holly, is an amazing cook, so everything around what I make tastes great.”
And Holly’s time at home is allowing her to experiment with her cooking on a regular basis.
“Food is now a primary thing in my life and my family life. It’s something I spent a lot of time and energy thinking about and reading about.”
Ty Burrell Career
When he’s not at home with Holly and the girls, Ty Burrell is building himself a stellar Hollywood career.
In his early acting years, he appeared in films such as Black Hawk Down and Dawn of the Dead. He also starred in a Broadway production of the play Macbeth.
After a few appearances on Law & Order during the 1990s, Ty Burrell went on to star in the sitcoms Out of Practice and Back to You, co-starring Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer.
