She’s gone from being a bullied schoolgirl to a YouTube influencer in the blink of an eye. And Emily Canham’s fame is still continuing to soar.
Not only has she become one of the most in-demand YouTube stars around, but she’s also bagged herself a celebrity boyfriend. And she seems more loved up than ever!
So who exactly is Emily dating, and how long has she been with her beau?

Emily Canham is dating Busted sweetheart James Bourne. The pair met after Emily’s brother decided to introduce them.
Emily and James were friends for a year or so before they started dating, and wanted to be cautious because of their 14 year age gap.
“I was like well I don’t know what this is, there is a large age gap between us, I wanted to know his intentions before absolutely anything so, it was a friendship for quite a while before anything turned into anything.”
They’ve now been dating for three years.

While the pair seem absolutely smitten, Emily admitted that she hasn’t always been a fan of James’ music…
Chatting with the press, the YouTuber said:
“When Busted were big back in the day, it wasn’t really my thing.
I only really discovered Busted when McFly toured with them and I just thought wow this is cool, I like their music. It wasn’t like I had been a fan of him since I was young.”
Since then though, Emily has fully embraced Busted. She’s often snapped at James’ gigs with the Busted boys, and it seems like she’s turning into a proper fan!
But despite growing closer and closer, the couple aren’t quite ready to move in together just yet.
“If he is in London, he can be at mine, if we are in LA, I can be at his. There is no need to get one place together, when we both have a place each that if we are in that country, we can be at that place.”
Messy Break Ups
But things haven’t always been easy for the influencer.
She ended up going through a VERY public break up with fellow YouTuber Jake Boys in February 2017, who she’d been dating for three years.
Emily and Jake initially hit things off on YouTube (obviously), and fans quickly started to refer to the pair as “Jemily” as their status soared.
But things started going wrong between the young couple after Emily found out that Jake was “talking to lots of other women”.

After creating so many vlogs together during their relationship, it’s safe to say that things were a bit awkward for a while.
But the former couple are now on good terms. And Emily even reunited with Jake in 2019 to film “the break up video we never made”.

Emily Canham now has huge influence, and has over a million subscribers and 721k Instagram followers.
She’s worked with the likes of Amazon, Sainsbury’s and Samsung. And she’s even a L’Oreal make-up ambassador!
However, this didn’t stop the internet star from falling foul of the UK’s advertising watchdog in 2020. Uh oh…
Emily was reprimanded after her TikTok failed to disclose that it was an ad.

The influencer was showing off some GHD products, but didn’t make it clear to her audience that her post was actually a paid partnership with the brand.
The regulator said that Emily’s post should have featured an #ad hashtag or similar label.
This meant that Emily was the first ever person to be pulled up by the watchdog for a TikTok post…
“This may be our first ruling on a TikTok post but brands, advertisers and influencers should be fully aware that the ad rules apply to them across online and in social media” a spokesman said.
