Donatella Versace Plastic Surgery: How Much Work Has the Designer Had?

We know her as the fashion designer and vice president of one of the most famous fashion houses in the world. But Donatella Versace’s addiction to surgery is earning her some serious notoriety…
Let’s look back at her dramatic transformation.
Donatella Versace Plastic Surgery
Back in the 80s, Donatella stepped into the spotlight with a fresh faced natural look. But as she became more famous, her face began to change.
In the early 1990s, the star still had naturally full lips and smooth skin, but began to develop some perfectly normal wrinkles around her eyes. Fast forward a few years though, and these wrinkles mysteriously disappeared.
After her divorce to Paul Beck, the fashion designer started to morph into the figure we know today. It looked like Donatella had started getting more invasive surgery, including botox and heavy-duty fillers.

In the late 2000s, Donatella Versace ended up spending time in rehab after she became addicted to cocaine. After she’d finished her stint, it seemed like she’d eased up on the fillers and botox, as she had a few faint lines around her eyes and mouth.
But this didn’t last long. The designer’s skin started to look seriously papery after the effects of Botox and sunbathing, and her lips continued to balloon.
Expert Opinions
Donatella Versace is now 66, and looks virtually unrecognisable to her former self.
Plastic surgeons have been asked for their opinions on her transformation over the years, and it seems like they all agree that the fashion designer has gone too far with cosmetic treatments.
According to plastic surgeon Dr Steve Fallek, Donatella has had nearly every procedure under the sun.
“She’s pretty much had it all. Botox, fillers, lasers for the skin. Minimal recovery time for those, though there can be some redness of the skin for a few weeks with laser therapy”.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bruce Katz from Juva Skin & Laser Center in NYC thinks Donatella has overdone it with Botox:
“She has had her cheeks augmented, probably with filler and certainly her lips have been filled, her eyelids are a little droopy.
I think she has had some bad Botox because they look like they are drooping. Maybe a little too much Botox in the forehead. She certainly can use some filler in her ear lobes, they are very stretched.”
And plastic surgeon expert Dr. David Rapaport agreed with his colleagues:
“From 2002 on her face seems to have more artificially defined fullness where now her lips seem to be over inflated.
Most recently, it seems very clear that she has a facelift scar that I can see in front of her temple area. You can see a fine linear scar. Her face looks more taught and tight, she has clearly undergone facelift surgery — perhaps over inflated cheeks and lips.”
Colourful Career
Donatella’s love affair with plastic surgery tends to dominate the headlines these days, so her years of hard work in fashion can often be overlooked.
She started working for the luxury fashion brand Versace after her brother Gianni’s death in 1997. She inherited a huge portion of the business, and quickly put her stamp on all things Versace.

The designer wanted to carry on her brother’s work, but with a unique feminine twist. She began working with A-list clients to promote her pieces, and was responsible for the now infamous “Jungle Dress” worn by Jennifer Lopez at the Grammys in 2000.
Donatella has gone on to expand the Versace brand with a chain of global hotels, and has become a huge figure in popular culture.
She later sold her luxury brand to Capri Holdings (Michael Kors), but has stayed on as Chief Creative Officer.
