Dominic Foppoli: The Former Mayor Under Investigation

Dominic Foppoli has continued to hit the headlines in recent times. And things really aren’t looking good for the former Mayor and winery owner right now.
After holding office as the Major of Windsor, California, the politician was eventually recalled earlier this year after several allegations against him came to light.
Let’s catch up on what happened…
Dominic Foppoli: Sexual Assault Allegations
Dominic Foppoli is currently under investigation after he was accused of sexual abuse and assault.
A total of nine women have come forward, including social influencer Farrah Abraham.
The women have claimed that the abuse occurred as far back as 2001.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the Mayor isolated and sexually assaulted four women after nights of drinking. Some of the women who came forward said that Dominic Foppoli had raped them, including his former girlfriends.

From here, more women began to come forward, and spoke openly about their ordeals with Foppoli.
At an emergency Windsor Town council meeting, the incidents were discussed in detail before Dominic’s own staff began to question him about his behavior.
The winery owner “categorically denies having engaged in any of the abuses described.” He refused to speak to the press directly.
In his official statement, a portion of it reads:
“He has a long history of supporting women in his business, personal, and political lives, and the accusation that he has engaged in any of these misdeeds is deeply troubling.
Mr. Foppoli prides himself on working to improve life for all of his constituents, and he will continue to maintain the fundamental value of treating everyone with respect.”
Investigation
The accusations sent shockwaves across Windsor, with the town calling the events “shocking and horrible.”
Members of the public were already calling for Foppoli’s resignation.

But this didn’t stop the Mayor from asking deputy district attorney and Council member Esther Lemus for her support in a voicemail. Esther was one of the women that he had drugged, sexually assaulted and raped in 2020.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office launched a criminal investigation into the allegations the same day that this took place.
Esther Lemus then called for Foppoli’s resignation, but was told by a reporter that Dominic Foppoli had said that he had a compromising video of the district attorney during these the incidents.
The Mayor continued to try and blackmail Esther with the alleged video until The Windsor Town Council officially called for his resignation.
During the investigation, Dominic Foppoli’s home has been raided. Detectives seized ten items in total, including photos, laptops, iPads, a cell phone and a USB drive to be examined in due course.
Police were searching for photos of two unidentified women after a fresh allegation of sexual assault came to light.
Campaign Violations
The winery owner has also been accused of violating campaign finance laws in recent times.

It’s thought that Dominic Foppoli paid thousands of dollars to a girlfriend and an executive at his winery, as well as spending funds on alcohol and leisure travel during his six years in office.
The anonymous complaint also flagged a series of payments that Foppoli accepted from developers with projects heading for a vote before the Town Council.
But despite the numerous allegations against him, Dominic Foppoli refused to resign from office.
This caused a recall campaign to be launched in April 2021, and he eventually resigned from office a month later.
The former mayor then caused shock and disgust when he filed paperwork with intent to run for Mayor of Windsor again for the November 2022 election.
Windsor council members who had backed Dominic’s resignation said that he would not be welcomed back on the campaign trail or in public office, while downplaying the significance of the shamed Mayor’s campaign filing.
