John has four brothers. He’s the second eldest, with the eldest of the family being Stephen, and three younger brothers being Dan, Matt and Sean Cena.

So who is one of John’s youngest siblings, Dan Cena?
Although both Dan’s older brother and father, John Cena Senior, both took to a career in professional wrestling, Dan didn’t want to follow in those footsteps.

Dan Cena chose a career in law instead, and currently works as a police officer. Although he stepped away from a life in the limelight, he has made public appearances with his big bro (it’s hard not to when you have a famous family member!).
How Old Is Dan?
Dan is 43 years old, born in West Newbury, Massachusetts, and growing up there with his four brothers.
While brother John was focusing on a big-time career in bodybuilding and wrestling, it seemed Dan Cena was intent on his law career from a young age. He graduated high school and earned his criminal justice degree to then go on to become a police officer.

Before He Officially Became A Police Officer, Dan Was A Dispatcher
As tends to be the norm for policing roles, Dan worked his way up through various law-related positions. He worked as a dispatcher, and also an auxiliary officer, before eventually becoming a sergeant.

Dan works as a sergeant for the West Newbury police department, sticking to his roots and remaining in the place he grew up, while brother John chose to move to California for the big time.
Dan Cena Has A Successful Family Life, Too
All that career success as a police officer doesn’t mean that Dan has missed out on marriage and kids, either. He’s a committed family man, with a wife and children. His wife’s name is Janet.
Unlike his big bro, John, however, he likes to keep his private life just that: private.
John Has Spoken Openly About His Love For His Brother
It appears there’s no sibling rivalry between these two, as John has wasted no time gushing about his brother, Dan.
When Dan appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show with John, John explained how Dan was an amazing police officer, family man and brother.

“One thing I truly love about Dan is he, as much of the job that is difficult to digest, he loves his work, and he never once takes it home with him, and he’s a wonderful father, and a wonderful husband, and a wonderful brother.”
“He’s always department and unit first above all else, and I think that’s because in difficult times, especially in subject matter that we can’t relate to, you folks lean on each other and I think that’s really special. You have your family, and then you have your family.”
Dan Cena Was Involved In A Huge Car Crash
It may come as part and parcel of being a police officer to be involved in lots of dangerous situations, and that’s precisely what happened to Dan.
Before he was promoted to sergeant, Dan was hit head on by a drunk driver. The driver was going at 76 miles per hour when he collided with Dan. The incident occurred just after the Super Bowl of 2007.

Dan admits that the crash and subsequent injuries meant he had to take a break (understandably) from work for a short while, but he was soon back to it – with a promotion to boot.
What’s Next For The Cena Brothers?
Well it seems Dan is only going from strength to strength with his policing career, and no doubt has a long and happy future ahead of him in law. Maybe some more promotions in the future?
As for brother John, regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, he’s still currently signed to WWE and showing no signs of stopping, with a rumoured appearance for WWE this coming summer – so fans of wrestling, and the star, will want to keep updated.
