Da Brat hit the big time back in the 1990s, and she’s continued to pave the way for female rappers everywhere.
Thanks to her super skilled rapping and iconic looks, she’s been earning some serious cash over the years. So how much is the rapper actually worth?
Let’s take a look back at her career.
Da Brat Net Worth
As of 2022, Da Brat’s net worth is around $100,000 dollars.
She started making her fortunes after her debut album Funkdafied became a massive success.
It quickly sold over one million copies, making Da Brat the first ever female solo rap act to receive a platinum certification.
Nice work!
As if that wasn’t enough, she also scored two top ten hits, and received two Grammy Award nominations.

She kept the ball rolling with her second album Anuthatantrum, which peaked at number five in the US Hip Hop Album chart.
So it was no great surprise that the star was an in-demand artist; tons of other musicians were keen to work with Da Brat, including Mariah Carey, Miss Elliot and Destiny’s Child.
She also went on to star in movies such as Glitter and 30 Days.
Legal Issues
Just when it seemed like Da Brat had it made, her reputation (and fortunes) took a huge hit after her arrests.
Back in 2001, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanour reckless conduct after she had battered a woman with a gun during a dispute over VIP seating in a club. The rapper served a year’s probation, 80 hours of community service, and paid a $1000 dollar fine.
But rather than learning her lesson, Da Brat ended up in trouble with the law again in 2007 after she hit a club hostess over the head with a bottle.
Following an argument with the hostess, Da Brat allegedly attacked her from behind with a bottle of rum. The hostess ended up needing stitches to her face, and was awarded $6.4 million in damages.
Meanwhile, the rapper was facing a much tougher sentence than her previous brush with the law. She served three years in prison for her crime, as well as seven years of probation.

After her legal troubles, Da Brat began appearing in a few reality TV shows to bring in some cash.
The rapper starred in the likes of Celebrity Fit Club, Dish Nation, and Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta.
She’s now a co-host on the Rickey Smiley Morning, where she’s been working since 2016.
Coming Out
In 2020, Da Brat came out.
She made the announcement that she was bisexual on her own terms, and was only too happy to introduce her girlfriend, Kaleidoscope Hair Products CEO Jesseca Dupart.
In a video on Instagram, Da Brat said:
“I’ve always felt like being private is the better way to go, because then you don’t have so many people in your business.
I was fine staying quiet, but my partner is a social media mogul — that’s how she became who she is. And when you get with somebody, you have to meet in the middle. So to me, the middle was just letting everybody know: ‘Hey, she’s the one’.”

While the news promptly broke the internet, many fans weren’t exactly surprised by her revelation.
There’s been plenty of rumours and speculation about Da Brat’s sexuality over the years, but this didn’t stop followers from expressing their support.
Speaking to Variety, the rap queen said:
“The reaction made me feel like, ‘Why didn’t I do this shit years ago?’”.
There were some people saying, ‘We knew it.’ Well, good for you! Now I know it, and I’m able to say it. I did this on my own terms.”
