She was born on May 22, 1989. Which currently makes her 32 years old. And she grew up in California alongside her family.
Catherine McDonnell family background
The brunette businesswoman was born into a family with a famous history. Her father is Dennis McDonnell and her mother’s name is Celeste McDonnell. She also has a brother named Mikey McDonnell.
The family retains a very close bond. As well as her immediate family, her Grandfather was actually famous for his efforts in the war.

Catherine’s paternal grandfather, Philip McDonnell was a war veteran and an advertising executive. And he also had a 3-decade long career and wrote journalism for some of the most major newspapers of the time.
Her Career Path
In terms of her own career pursuits, she started out by doing a bachelor of arts in business and communications. She then did a post-grad in business and communications management from the University of Southern California.
Her career first began in PR, for a company called ‘Singer Associates Public Relations and Public Affairs’. She continued in this company for two years – 2007-2009.
She then moved more into sales and marketing. While she was here she worked for ‘Showtime Networks Inc’ for a brief period. Whilst doing this she was also working as a sports broadcasting reporter; an ABC News and Broadcast Journalist for Fox television from December 2010 to December 2011.

Of course, now the star had been introduced into the world of sport where she met current husband Gasol.
After graduating from USC with a master’s in 2012, she built up her resume of impressive work experience. She was then was hired by the Innovative Dining Group in West Hollywood.
She was a project manager and a social media manager in the two and a half years she was there.
Family illness and charity work
Alongside her successful business career which went from strength to strength. She has also always been an active philanthropist.
The career woman is an aunt to two children with a citrate transporter disorder. The disorder is a SLC13A5 deficiency: a neurological disorder.
From 2016 she became the director of communications at the TESS Research Foundation in San Francisco. This foundation conducts research into this particular illness. Of course this is a disorder close to her heart that has had a direct effect on her family.
Catherine McDonnell and Gasol’s relationship
In 2016 when news surfaced he was dating California beauty Cat McDonnell. After two years into their relationship, the Spaniard announced his engagement to Cat.
In 2016 Pau Gasol was playing with the San Antonio Spurs when the news slipped out that the Spaniard was dating McDonnell. And, two years later the sports star announced that he had popped the question.
The pair tied the knot back in 2019. From then, they have been enjoying their relatively new married life together. So, for the ceremony they flew to San Francisco for a private and intimate ceremony.

Then, to carry on the celebrations they flew to the Ampurdan. Which is an area in the Northeastern region of Spain. And there they held their next wedding almost a week later. It was a small gathering with their closest loved ones attending.
In 2020, August 3rd she announced her pregnancy to the world. Hence, Catherine McDonnell uploaded a picture on her social media with her husband which proudly showed off her bump.
A tribute to Kobe Bryant And Gianna
The couple welcomed their daughter Elisabeth Gianna Gasol on 10 September 2020.
In 2020, the happy couple welcomed their first child. They were blessed with a baby girl on September 10th. Gasol, as well as his wife were very close to the late Laker’s star Kobe Bryant. Who, alongside his daughter died tragically in a Helicopter accident in 2020.
They had a very strong relationship with one another. And so they wanted to pay tribute to this. So, the couple named their new baby Elisabeth Gianna. ‘Gianna’ was chosen to remember Kobe Bryant’s late daughter. Therefore, the pair also asked Vanessa Bryant to be their daughter’s godmother. In the past, and also today, the families spend a lot of time together.
