While Andi generally keeps her love life out of the limelight, she’s been in a relationship for many years now- and she has some famous family members too!

While Andi Oliver isn’t actually married, she does have a long-term partner.

According to Local Buyers Club, chef and singer Andi lives at home in Clapton with her partner Garfield Hacknett.

Andi and Garfield met over 20 years ago while working at a bar in Shoreditch. At the time, Garfield worked as a music manager and the two bonded over their love of food. No surprises there!

Garfield did fairly well during his time in the music industry, and successfully managed rock pop group the Feds.

Now, Andi and Garfield run Andi’s Wadadli Kitchen, a Caribbean restaurant in Stoke Newington.

Not much is really known about Garfield, but he seems to be the perfect match for Andi. They usually spend time cooking, and have a mutual hate of camping too!

Career

After initially starting her career in music, Andi Oliver made the transition into television after bagging herself a hosting slot on Channel 4’s Baadasss TV. She also picked up roles hosting the Glastonbury festival coverage on BBC, as well as BBC World Service.

In 2007, Andi began to present her own a six-part cookery show Neneh and Andi Dish it Up with her friend Neneh Cherry for BBC2. This went down a storm with viewers.

The show’s success opened lots of doors for the star. She became more and more involved in food-related programmes, and starred in everything from The Kitchen Cabinet, The Big Eat, and BBC’s Christmas Kitchen.

Family Life

It’s safe to say that Andi Oliver’s family are multitalented. While food plays a huge part in their lives, they’re also super musical.

Andi’s late brother, Sean, along with famed singer Neneh Cherry were part of 80s punk band Rip Rig + Panic. After Andi’s brother was involved in a car accident, Andi met Neneh and decided she was going to join the band.

But unfortunately in 1990, Andi’s brother passed away from sickle cell anaemia.

Chatting with Local Buyer’s Club, the foodie said:

“I never really sang before that – I’d sing in the bath a bit – it didn’t cross my mind to wonder if I could sing in tune or not! In those days there was a lot of freedom. Six weeks later I’d joined the band and we were on the road.”

As if this wasn’t enough, Andi Oliver’s daughter is also pretty famous- and is T4’s very own Miquita Oliver!
