At the beginning of February, baby boy Sebastian Luke entered the world.
Anderson Cooper discussed his new son on Live With Kelly and Ryan. He said:
“This is Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. He was 6.8 pounds at birth and he was healthy and happy and even his occasional hiccups, are to me, adorable,” he continued. “He mostly just sleeps and eats and certainly poops, but he already seems like a wise and thoughtful little chap.”

He then discussed how his eldest son, 22 month old Wyatt was adjusting to his new life as a brother:
“They seem to be getting along really well. I mean, ‘Getting along well’ — Sebastian sleeps,” Cooper joked.
“He can’t say Sebastian yet, he calls him Luke. So every morning he wants to go say ‘Good morning, Luke.’ ”
Who Are the Parents?
Most of us know Anderson Cooper for being an American broadcast journalist and political commentator. He is most famous for being the primary anchor of the CNN news broadcast show Anderson Cooper 360°.
Benjamin Maisani was born and raised in France. He is a very famous and wealthy buisiness man who is involved in multiple french businesses. As well as this, he owns his own night club and is very involved with property dealings.
They met back in 2009 when the pair hit it off pretty much instantly. They had such a solid friendship that even the split has not ruined it. The two of them knew that they both wanted to be parents, and so they had a child through surrogacy.

Unfortunately Cooper and Maisini’s relationship came to a romantic end. However, the teo of them still completely love and respect one another. So much so, that they are still best friends. Acknowedging that they were no longer romantically compatible, has not interfered with the family they built together.
He revealed to CNN Anchor News:
“We’re a family. Benjamin is also in the process of adopting Wyatt, who’s last name will be changed to Maisani-Cooper as well,” the longtime news anchor said on the show, calling Maisani his “best friend.”
They initially both brought up baby Wyatt together, and they continue to raise him together even since the split. In fact, a few months ago they revealed that they actually continued to live together so that they could co-parent as well as possible.
The two of them announced their split publically in 2018. But, they were both present in the delivery room when Wyatt was born via surrogate. And now, they have a new addition to the family and they will continue just as they used to.
Co-Parenting
Anderson Cooper opened up to PEOPLE last year in Spetember during an interview. He discussed what is was like bringing up a child with his ex. The CNN star has a very refreshing view on this topic. And, it sounds worlds away from many parents in the same situation.
”It’s awesome. It’s probably an unusual setup, but I knew he would be a great dad, and he is. We’re exes, but we’re family to each other, and we love each other as family and as co-parents.”

“There’s the usual bickering that any two people have when there’s a kid involved, like what time should he go to swimming class, or should he wear the overalls, or whatever, we get along great.”
“I’ve always believed that if you’ve been with somebody and that ends, in terms of an intimate relationship, if you love somebody, there’s no reason why that love shouldn’t continue,” he continued.
Ukraine
Due to the war crisis in Ukraine and the atrocities that are occurring, CNN news of course are reporting everything that is happening there. Anderson Cooper, who still works at the news has recently gone right into the war zone to report what is going on, despite very recently becoming a father.
Because of this, he has been spending time away from his family and he’s also been situated right amongst the crisis. People have actually responded to this with criticism, for leaving his new born baby to head into a war zone. However, for Anderson Cooper this is not something he can refuse to do at such a vital time to provide news and coverage. Cooper has covered a lot of important stories in the past and has shed light on the suffering going on around the world.
