Vincent first met his wife Alexis on the set of Mad Men at the height of its success. The Gilmore Girls star had joined the show as new character Beth Dawes in the show’s fifth season, and it didn’t take long for them to hit things off…
Low-key Relationship
While their characters were carrying out a dramatic affair on the show, things between Alexis and Vincent were much more low key.
They publicly announced that they were dating in 2012, and fans were quick to offer their congratulations. But they continued to play out their relationship away from the cameras, and kept quiet about their dating lives during interviews.
After a couple of years together, the pair announced their engagement. And Vincent finally had a few words to say about his bride-to-be.
Speaking at the Mad Men season 6 premiere, the actor said:
“I’m a very lucky man. I keep saying ‘girlfriend.’ And then I’m like, ‘I mean, my fiancée!’.”

The couple decided to tie the knot in a fairly low-key wedding in California, with only their closest friends and family members in attendance.
A source revealed:
“It was a small and intimate family affair.
They wanted something relaxed and beautiful. Ojai was the perfect place.”
At this point, fans were hoping that the couple would be a lot less secretive about their relationship. But things didn’t stop there…
It turned out that Alexis had actually given birth to their first son a year after the wedding, and had managed to keep the huge announcement under wraps!
The word finally got out when Bledel’s Gilmore Girls co-star Scott Patterson spilled the beans during a 2016 interview.
“She’s really blossomed as a woman and now she’s a proud new mother and married and happy.
We’re comparing notes because my son is about a year and a half older than her young son. I’m showing her photos and videos and what to expect!”.
Controversies
While the couple have done their best to stay out of the limelight, Vincent Kartheiser ended up hitting the headlines last year after he was accused of inappropriate behaviour.

According to a source, Vincent Kartheiser was the subject of a complaint for what was described as “making inappropriate comments onset”.
WBTV’s Labour Relations department then investigated. They found that his actions didn’t mean he should be fired from the show, but did warrant “corrective action”.
A spokesperson for the actor said:
“Vincent Kartheiser vehemently denies the allegations.
Warner Bros. investigated this matter and made clear to Mr. Kartheiser its expectations for behaviour on the set, and he agreed to comply with their directives.”
