She’s the influencer that managed to reinvent herself, but it seems that Acacia Kersey’s time on social media has come to an end.
The online star sensationally decided to quit the internet earlier this year, leaving fans confused.
So what exactly went down?
Acacia Kersey: Giving up Fame
After spending a decade as one of the most controversial influencers around, Acacia Kersey has decided to step back from the limelight.
She’s built her online empire on Tumblr, YouTube and Instagram, but apparently she’s become fed up of monetizing her life.
She does however still have a Patreon account…
The internet star had agonized over the decision for months before finally pulling the plug.

In a dramatic Instagram post, Acacia wrote:
“It’s been a few months since I’ve been on here but I’m here to share some news with you. I am leaving my role as an ‘influencer’ indefinitely.
There are a plethora of reasons that have lead me to this decision. This role has done an immense amount of damage to me, my relationships, my financial stability and my view of the world.
Fear has been keeping me here for longer than I can even admit. Fear of what would happen if I stopped bringing in money, fear of what I could even offer the world, fear of who I am without this because it’s all I’ve ever known.”
Chasing Fame
While Acacia has now bowed out of the spotlight, it seemed like she was chasing fame from an early age.
When she was young, Acacia aspired to become a singer and actor.
Her older brother is Peyton Clark, an actor and model who was already making appearances on the Disney Channel.
She appeared in a few bands with middling success and had a few small acting roles over the years.
But Acacia soon started to see her status soar when she began using Tumblr, and befriending boys who already had established platforms.

Corpse Husband Face: The big reveal
The influencer’s followers started to notice that Acacia would consistently target older guys on Tumblr.
And in 2015, she moved in with her now husband, singer Jairus Kersey, when she was just 17- months after they started dating.
A few of her critics also claimed that Acacia Kersey went out of her way to start drama on the social media site, and that she so desperate to gain more followers that she would post suggestive photos of herself online.
The internet star eventually rebranded herself to move away from her Tumblr past, and focused on producing family-oriented content that documented the lives of her husband and three children.
Controversies
Acacia Kersey continued to receive a LOT of hate even after her Tumblr days. But she hasn’t exactly helped herself over the years…
The internet star was accused of being racist after several of her old tweets and videos resurfaced.
After she was caught using racial slurs, including the N-word, she responded with a simple “I’m sorry”. It took increased pressure from followers before she decided on a more elaborate apology.
The influencer has also been in the firing line for repeatedly buying dogs, and then giving them up.
Acacia blamed her allergies and the specific needs of the pets as the reasoning for giving them away. But people weren’t buying it.

And if that wasn’t enough, she then landed herself in hot water with fellow influencer Ash Levi after allegedly ripping off her Instagram presets.
Haters and trolls were growing so furious with Acacia Kersey that it even lead to a particularly spiteful entry on Urban Dictionary that read:
“an ex tumblr girl infamous for getting into relationships incredibly quickly (often with guys a lot older than herself), faking self-harm and abusing pets.”
Uh oh…
