Here’s everything you need to know about TikTok’s Abi Clarke.
Abi Clarke Comedy
Abi is a stand-up comedian based in Bristol.
She hadn’t been working the South-West circuit for long before the pandemic hit, and Abi was looking at ways to build her audience during lockdown.
It didn’t take long for the comedian to start producing TikTok videos, which has earned her huge success.
“I started posting online so my followers could then come to gigs, and I’d be able to do the jokes I want to do” she said.
In her first year online, she amassed over a million followers across Instagram and TikTok. Abi now boasts a following of 358K on Instagram, 825K (with over nineteen million likes across videos) on TikTok, and two hundred and sixty-three thousand subscribers on YouTube!

She’s currently filming for Comedy Central for its new stand-up strand Comedy Central Live.
Reflecting on Fame
Abi Clarke might be taking over the world at this point, but she’s still got her feet firmly on the ground.
The comedian has continued to shrug off her influencer status, and instead focuses on being as relatable as possible to her young female audience.
Chatting with The Independent, Abi said:
“I want my videos to make someone say, ‘That’s so true, that’s so you, that’s so me, or that’s so us,’. If they can do one of those, then it’s going to do well.”

And it seems there’s one particular comedian that Abi admires most- Sarah Millican.
Abi says that Sarah has the kind of relationship that she would like to have with her audience herself one day:
“I was watching her special and a woman was willing to shout out some really embarrassing thing about her period or her boobs, just shout out in this huge theatre in front of everyone, [while] it was being filmed.
That’s how comfortable Sarah Millican makes people feel.”
Secret Talents
So what does Abi get up to when she’s not entertaining her fans? Well, she’s actually hardcore into baking!
Much like comedy, baking requires a lot of precise timing and practice. And Abi loves both in equal measure.
She’s inherited her love of baking from her mum and nan, and started making cakes for friends at teachers while she was at school.

The comedian revealed:
“By the time I got to school I really unleashed my creativity. I made a cake version of my sociology teacher and gave it to him. He varnished it and kept it in the classroom. I wonder if he still has it now…
My sixth form friends were chuffed when I started bringing in cakes for them, too. I liked to casually tell them, ‘Yeah, I made it myself, what more can I say?’.
I guess that show and tell aspect of my personality is why I was drawn to comedy as well.”
And Abi is embracing her natural creativity as much as she can. In between her stand-up shows and viral sketches, the comedian makes everything from bread to wedding cakes.
“The bake I’m most proud of is the cake I made for my brother’s wedding: a naked chocolate and raspberry cake.
It went down a treat. Chocolate and fruit is the best cake flavour ever and I refuse to accept otherwise!”.
