Noel and Liam split in 2009, to the shock of rock ‘n’ roll fans everywhere. Oasis were known for two things: successful music, and two brothers constantly butting heads. But despite the series of public fallouts since the split, many people have fully been on the ‘they’ll get back together’ reunion train.
2. Noel originally shut down rumours in 2013

Noel was the one who officially quit Oasis, and made a go at his own solo career, too. So when rumours of the band getting back together came to prominence in 2013, he officially shut them down. Speaking to Rolling Stone, he said that they’re definitely split, and “If there is a reunion, I won’t be in it.”.
3. And Noel refused to attend the premier of Oasis: Supersonic

Oasis released the music documentary Supersonic in 2016, and although the brothers hadn’t needed to reunite for the film due to its use of archive footage, many hoped they’d at least reunite for the premier and maybe feel more encouraged to kiss and make up. Sadly, only Liam turned up for the premiere.
4. Liam hit back at his brother for not playing the One Love concert

When Ariana Grande set up the benefit concert, One Love, in 2017 following the tragic Manchester bombing, Liam attended to play some of his songs – but only highlighted Noel’s notable absence. Liam hit out at Noel for not bothering to show up, and many had speculated before this that the One Love concert would be when Oasis would reunite. Sadly not!
5. But then the brothers were offered A LOT of money to get back together…

Liam has always been open to a social media rant or two, and in 2021 he claimed that the pair had been offered £100 million to get back together, but that it wasn’t enough for Noel. Noel, on the other hand, took to social media to say he didn’t know anything about an offer.
6. Noel has changed his tune about a reunion this year

Noel has been the one most stubbornly against a reunion, but it seems in recent months he might have changed his tune. When speaking to Radio Manchester, he was hinting that a reunion wouldn’t be off the table: “One should never say never, right…”. Although he did say it would have to take “extraordinary” circumstances for that to happen…
7. Liam said to a fan that a reunion is happening

Liam, on the other hand, has unequivocally been talking about a reunion happening – though he’s always been the one to seem more open about it. When asked by a fan on Twitter – now X – whether there was even a slim chance Oasis could get back together, he said it’s happening.

Rumours also began that dates for Knebworth concerts in 2025 had been blocked out because Oasis were going to reunite and fill the gap. In response to the speculation, Noel has stated that if it’s going to happen, it has to be Liam to pull it off – and that Noel is free the back end of 2024…
9. Liam reached out to his brother recently on X

Noel recently went through a split with his wife earlier this year, and it’s apparently this that made brother Liam hold out an olive branch. He reached out to Noel on X, stating that Noel knows where he is if he needs support, and ending with “Oasis till I die”.
10. Could this now mean the brothers will reconcile?

Maybe the split from his wife has put things into perspective for Noel, and maybe Liam reaching out is a big thing for the stubborn brother to do, so could it be this that makes the brothers finally get talking again and set up those concerts for 2024/2025? Time will tell.
