Louisa Lytton is best known for playing the role of Ruby Allen in EastEnders. She joined the show in 2005, and after a 12-year hiatus during which she starred in ITV drama The Bill, returned to our screens as Ruby in 2018.

However, Louisa’s career goes further than just TV soaps. She has starred in Strictly Come Dancing and has starred in theatre productions across the UK.

However, the TV star took a massive step in her personal life this year when she revealed she was expecting a baby. However, some fans are confused about her baby’s name.

So what did Louisa Lytton name her baby?

Louisa Lytton’s Baby Name

Louisa Lytton gave birth on August 30th, after a gruelling three-day-long labour. It is her and her partner Ben Bhanvra’s first child together.

They chose to name their little girl Aura Olivia Bhanvra. Explaining the unique name, she said:

“People keep asking us where Aura came from but we don’t really know. It was on our list. We just both loved the name and we don’t know anyone else with it.

We wanted something quite different but not really out there and something that will carry her through every stage of her life.”

She also revealed that Aura’s middle name is a sweet nod to Louisa’s nan – Olivia was her middle name.

After her birth, Louisa Lytton announced the news on Instagram with a beautiful black-and-white picture of her and Ben holding their daughter’s hand.

She captioned the picture: “And then there were three… Welcome to the world, We are utterly overwhelmed with love.”

Who is Louisa Lytton?

Louisa Lytton hasn’t always been a full-time actress. Though she started her career on EastEnders in 2005, in her break from the show she’s also had to take ‘normal’ jobs.

Before her return to the show in 2018, she was touring the UK with a production of Grease and has had to take receptionist jobs in the past to make ends meet.

Louisa Lytton grew up on a council estate in London, but her parents worked hard to get her into the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School – she won a place and received some council grants to help.

She got her first part on EastEnders aged 15. Two years later, she was Strictly Come Dancing’s youngest contestant, and she ended up reaching the quarter-finals with Vincent Simone.

Her Husband

Ben Bhanvra is a businessman originally from Yorkshire. He is the director of a online casino company, and has also worked in marketing. The pair met in 2017 through a mutual friend and hit it off quickly.

Four months later, they were living together, and in 2019, Ben proposed while on holiday in the Maldives. He designed the ring himself.

Louisa said she was completely shocked the moment Ben got down on one knee.

“It’s the weirdest, maddest feeling. I was so nervous I couldn’t look at him. I covered my face and kept asking: ‘Are you sure? Are you sure?’ My body went into shock and I was crying my eyes out.”

A Crucial Storyline

When Louisa Lytton returned to Albert Square in 2018, the actress received praise for Ruby Allen’s difficult storyline.

In a hard-hitting episode, Ruby returns home after a reunion party and explains to Stacey that though she went home with a man called Ross, she woke up with another man, Matt, in her bed, who had sex with her.

In a conversation that has drawn praise from Rape Crisis UK, Ruby says that she “didn’t say no” to Matt, with Stacey responding that she “didn’t say yes” either.

Louisa gained a nomination for Best Single Episode for her character’s harrowing rape scene.
