Alex Jones’ One Show success has helped her become a household name- but she’s currently taking some time away from the prime time show to juggle her growing brood.
The star now has three children, and gave birth to baby daughter Annie earlier this year.
Which gives us a great excuse to fuss over Alex Jones’ adorable family…
Baby Mama
The BBC presenter gave birth to her first daughter on the 24th August of this year- and it was clear that the star couldn’t be more delighted.
In a candid Instagram post, Alex wrote:
“Our beautiful daughter came safely into the world on Saturday afternoon 21.08.21. Tiny, but perfectly formed we are all beyond happy and besotted by her, especially Ted and Kit.
Watching them with their brand new little sister is just the best and we can’t believe how lucky we are to have the 3 of them and to be a family of 5.”
Alex Jones and her husband, insurance broker Charlie Thomson, took their time to announce their baby’s name. Rather than making the announcement via social media, Alex decided to go one better and reveal all when she dialled into a video call on the One Show during her maternity leave.

Chatting with co-hosts Sam Quek and Jermaine Jenas, Alex Jones announced that her daughter is called Annie- and her colleagues were quick to give their congrats.

Alex Jones and partner Charlie are already parents to their lively boys Ted and Kit. Ted is four, while Kit is eighteen months.
Which means the One Show star will be juggling parenting duties for the foreseeable- and she’s made it clear that she’s been finding things challenging.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the star said:
“Today has been a bit trying. Both boys are so tired, Ted after his first full week of school and little Kit because he hasn’t slept one night through since Annie arrived, and patience is at an all-time low.”
Oh dear…
But despite the exhaustion, Alex Jones has given her followers plenty of insights into the positives of family life- like crab fishing!

The star’s maternity leave has given her One Show co-stars a chance to fill her shoes while she’s away.
But while the likes of Anjelica Bell and Angela Scanlon have come and gone, it seems that fans are keen to see Alex back where she belongs.
She’s been presenting the hit show for over ten years now, and has enjoyed the show’s longest serving partnership with her former co-host Matt Baker.

And Alex Jones has definitely had plenty of highs and lows during her time on the show.
She famously described her interview with actor Jeremy Irons as her worst ever- which made things a little awkward when he was then invited on the show as a guest. Cringe…
There was also the car crash interview with EastEnders star Don Gilet during Alex’s birthday celebrations on the show, who was getting tetchy with the presenter when his internet went down.
But luckily, viewers were very much on Team Alex, who praised the star for soldiering on.
So when exactly can we expect the presenter to return to the One Show?
While she made a one-off appearance on the show last month, the star won’t be returning to our screens for a good few months yet. Boo.
