Pete Sandiford: The Gogglebox Star Becomes a Dad

Pete and Sophie Sandiford are the brother and sister duo that make our Friday nights on Gogglebox. If they’re not cackling at TV shows, they’re delivering great one liners as they now become one of our firm faves on the show.
Since they joined Gogglebox in 2018, Pete and his sister have seen their statuses soar as new-found celebrities.
As Pete becomes a dad for the first time, let’s catch up on his relationship with long-term girlfriend Paige Yeomans.
Pete Sandiford: Gogglebox
In some ways, Pete Sandiford has lived a relatively normal life since he joined the Channel 4 show.
The star still lives in his native Blackpool, and has his normal day job in insurance.
Pete and sister Sophie were scouted for Gogglebox after they starred in two adverts for Talk Talk’s This Stuff Matters campaign, which even saw Pete’s face appearing on billboards across the UK!
Since the pair joined the show, they’ve built themselves an army of fans, and seen their follower counts soar on their social media channels.

Married at First Sight: Michelle and Owen
But like so many of the show’s stars, Sophie and Pete Sandiford haven’t let fame go to their heads.
Speaking about their time on Gogglebox, Sophie said:
“We can still pop out for milk, but I can always tell when we’re on telly because my phone buzzes with new Twitter followers.”
Pete Sandiford added:
“We’re still gobsmacked that we’re on the show. A woman came up to me saying me and Soph were ace – when people take the time to do that, it means a lot.”
And Pete dropped a bombshell on fans earlier this year as he showed his sister a picture of his baby scan during an episode of the hit reality show.
Googlebox followers immediately went into meltdown as they found out that the star would be becoming a dad for the first time with partner Paige- and it was clear that Sophie and his fellow cast mates couldn’t have been more delighted.
New Baby
While Pete has kept his new baby news under wraps, his cast mates have clearly been bursting to tell all.
The stars took to the stage to accept their award for best factual programme at the National Television Awards earlier this month- and the baby bombshell was dropped by Julie Malone.

Nadia Celebs Go Dating: Why did she leave?
Julie revealed:
“I hope you don’t mind me saying this, but congratulations to Pete who has become a dad.”
Pete then confirmed the news himself and said:
“I’m a proud father. He’s a cool little lad. Takes after his mum. I slept on the train here, I’m so tired.”
His sister Sophie Sandiford also added:
“I’m a very proud auntie….I’m obsessed with him”.
We really hope we’ll get to meet baby Sandiford on Googlebox soon!
Marriage
As if a new baby wasn’t enough for Paige Yeomans and Pete Sandiford, the pair also revealed that they’ve recently got married too.
It’s not known exactly how long they’ve been together for, but fans have been speculating that it’s at least a year.
The couple got engaged back in April, and went to tie the knot in a secret ceremony.

Tom Celebs Go Dating: The lowdown on the TV receptionist
In an interview with OK! Magazine, Pete Sandiford said:
“I’m married now! It was nerve-wracking but the best day of my life. Well, second best day as I’m a dad now, too.”
This came shortly after the Gogglebox star was cruelly trolled on his Instagram page after posting a cute selfie with Paige.
Internet users told Pete Sandiford that he was “punching above his weight” with his fiancée, which resulted in an unusual absence from Pete on his social media channels.
After stepping back from Instagram for a while, it’s great to see Pete with a smile on his face again!
