Katy Fawcett: Her News Career So Far

We’re used to seeing Katy Fawcett popping up on our morning screens as Good Morning Britain’s perkiest correspondents.
But what do we know about the star, and who is she dating?
Let’s look back at the journalist’s career so far…
Katy Fawcett: Career girl
Katy Fawcett was keen to break into journalism from an early age. After earning herself a master’s in journalism, she bagged herself a spot on ITV’s prestigious internship scheme.
She was then selected to join regional news for ITV, and made appearances as a lead correspondent and presenter. But it was in 2012 that the journalist scored her big break.
Katy Fawcett joined the ranks of Good Morning Britain as one of the show’s lead correspondents, covering all manner of stories from the hunt for April Jones to flood coverage.
She even took her investigations abroad for the show too. Katy has jetted off to Romania to delve into the lives of the Romany community; to Malia where she investigated the safety of British teenagers abroad; and to Cyprus, where she experienced first-hand the collapse of the banking system.

Piers Morgan Wife: Who is the journalist married to?
Katy even started to take on presenting duties for the hit morning TV show- but a few weeks in, she made a shock announcement.
The star would be leaving Good Morning Britain for a new role.
Katy Fawcett revealed she’d be making the switch over to ITV Calendar, where she would be one of the show’s main anchors.
In a candid Instagram post, Katy said:
“Breaking News! Really excited to share with you that from the week after next I’m heading over to @itvcalendar to be their main presenter for 6 months!
Aside from ditching fishing waders for frocks, more importantly it is a real honour and privilege to present a show I grew up watching and to be entrusted to relay all the daily hard work of a really incredible team to a county I’ll always call home.”
She’s since gone on to enjoy huge success in her new role, and has won herself an army of new fans. Nice work Katy!
Married life
When Katy isn’t busy with hectic work schedule, she can usually be found spending quality time with her husband, former soap star Adam Rickitt.

Phillip Schofield Holly Willoughby: This Morning’s best moments
You might recognise Adam from his time in Coronation Street, where he played heartthrob Nick Tilsley from 1997-1999, and again from 2002-2004.
The pair tied the knot back in 2014, and the Good Morning Britain star was so keen to kiss Adam that the registrar told her off!
Opening up about the big day, Katy said:
“Adam laid his soul completely bare and I was so desperate to kiss him that the registrar had to tell me off! I felt so full of love and emotion, I cried quite a lot.”
And it seems like Katy and Adam are loved up more than ever.
After nearly seven years of marriage, the couple are still spotted painting the town red; and they love nothing better than going out for a few cocktails!
Both Katy and Adam are huge social media addicts, and frequently share pictures and videos of their date nights with their Instagram followers- as well as a few sneaky shots of their very own gin bar, Dexter and Jones.

Susanna Reid Husband: Who is her ex-hubby Dominic Cotton?
Recording themselves as they stepped out for a date for the first time since lockdown, Adam joked:
“It’s been tough for everybody and hopefully you’re all getting back to normal.
This is us going out on a night to get hammered.”
Good for you guys!
This came after Adam had previously opened up about his autoimmune disease Ankylosing Spondylitis– which decreases fertility.
After Adam’s setback, it’s great to see the pair living their best lives together.
