But thankfully, Elen soon bounced back- and she took a pretty philosophical approach to her break up with the footballer.
Speaking candidly to The Daily Mirror, the Spanish model said:
“For my girls, it would be better to still be a family unit.
But I did try- I hung in there for seven years… But the dark days are behind me.
Breaking up with Frank hasn’t broken me. That is certainly in no doubt.”

It was rumoured that Elen ended up receiving millions in settlement fees after their split.
After dating numerous women, including millionaire’s daughter Saskia Boxford, Frank Lampard finally ended up settling down with Christine Bleakley- and the pair even ended up getting married in 2015.
