Harry Kane is one of England’s most recognisable footballers. He’s played for Tottenham Hotspurs since the beginning of his professional career, and also captains the England national team.
However, despite his fame, you might not know that Kane is married to a childhood friend.
So who is Harry Kane’s wife, Katie Goodland?
Who Is Katie Goodland?
Harry Kane met Katie Goodland when they were both at Larkswood Primary School, East London. They stayed friends throughout their time at Chingford Foundation School, and officially become a couple in 2012.
She’s a fellow footie fan and studied sports science at university. Now, the 27-year-old works as a fitness instructor, alongside supporting her husband in his football career.

She regularly posts fitness routines on her Instagram, as well as sharing pictures of her luxurious holidays with her footballer husband.
Kane said: “We went to school together, so she’s seen my whole career. Of course, she’s finding it a little crazy.”
As England met Italy in the Euros 2020 final in July this year, Kate posted a loving tribute to her footballer husband on her Instagram.
She said: “You’re such an amazing husband and dad, and the children can’t wait to have you home. Imagine telling them all about this summer one day when they’re a bit older.
Though England didn’t manage to take home the trophy, it was clear that Katie was proud of the England captain. After the game, she posted a picture of their children surrounded by red and white balloons, with the caption:
“Proud of Harry, proud of how the squad conducted themselves and proud to tell my three kids about Euro 2020 and what their daddy was such a big part of.”
From Friends to Husband and Wife
The childhood friends got engaged in the Bahamas in July 2017, with Kane getting down on one knee on the beach.
This was after the birth of their first child, Ivy, who was born in January 2017.

They welcomed their second daughter, Vivienne, in August 2018. A year later, in June 2019, they married in a beautiful, intimate ceremony in an exotic location.
Kane’s sponsor Nike provided personalised t-shirts for the wedding party to wear, and guests were kept entertained with sports before the wedding day including golf and frisbee.
The footballer finally became father to a son in December 2020, when their first son Louis Harry Kane was born.
Katie Goodland is vocal on Instagram about her birthing journeys with her three children. She used the hypnobirthing method during labour with all three children, giving birth with no pain relief.
In a touching Instagram post in January 2020, she said:
“I originally looked at Hypnobirthing when I first got pregnant with Ivy as I was so fearful of birth and the unknown and it taught me not to FEAR birth and to take control of it.
There is a lot of misunderstanding about Hypnobirthing. It is more about understanding your pregnancy and your body and teaching you the techniques for a calm and confident birth.”
A Stellar Football Career
Harry Kane was born in Walthamstow, London on 28th July 1993. He started playing for local club Ridgeway Rovers but joined the Arsenal youth academy when he was 8 years old.
However, he was let go from the training academy for being “a bit chubby.” Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger later said that he was sorry that the team let Kane go.

Finally, on his 16th birthday in July 2009, Kane signed a scholarship contract with his local team Tottenham Hotspurs.
Speaking about joining his home team, Kane said: “Most of my family were Spurs fans and I grew up 15 minutes from the ground, so I was always going to be a Spurs fan.”
He was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2015, and in the same year equalled a Premier League record by scoring his 21st goal. The same year, he also debuted for the under-21 England squad.
He captained England for the first time in 2017. This year, it was Harry Kane who scored the winning goal in Euros 2020 semi-final game against Denmark, putting the men’s national team into their first major final since 1966.
