Inside Alice Levine’s Private Relationship With Beau Edward Ibbotson
When Edward Ibbotson came into the spotlight ever since the media found out he was dating beloved radio personality, Alice Levine – fans were curious about who this mystery man was.
It seems his past and career are not so mysterious after all – having been in the indie rock band “Life in Film”.
Ever since the couple started dating, their romance has been kept private and away from the media. But we have the inside scoop!
Here’s everything you need to know about Edward Ibbotson and his relationship with Alice Levine. More importantly, are the two still together? Read on to find out more.
Edward’s Humble Beginnings
The band, Life in Film, originated in Hackney, East London in 2010 when lead vocalist, Samuel Fry, returned to London after his stay at university and reunited with his good friend, Edward Ibbotson.
Ibbotson who was the vocalist and lead guitarist in the band soon got together with Dominic Sennet (bass), and Mikey Osment (drums) both of whom Fry had known in Bournemouth University.
When the band formed, it took a few years to get their music across platforms. Only in the tail end of 2014 did they signed on to +1 Records (USA) and Embassy Of Music (Europe).
Not too long after that, the band announced their breakup in a Facebook post in March of 2017. In those 7 years though they managed to release 2 albums. Popular songs across the charts in the UK such as “Carla”, “Get Closer”, “Until it’s Over” might be all too familiar.
Even long before joining the band, Ibbotson was born in the United States but grew up in London where he worked as a chef at The Convenience on Chatsworth Road.
Social Media Presence
Edward doesn’t reveal much on his social media platform. Levine and Ibbotson’s 7-year relationship has remained private on social media throughout this time.
It’s not unusual for artists and celebrities to keep their relationship on the down-low. Even though Levine is fairly active on Instagram – her relationship with Edward doesn’t reveal much online.
While Edward doesn’t have an account of his own on Instagram. He used to be active on Twitter when the band, Life in Film was performing live. Edward did not fail to actively share posts, announcements, and updates on their show dates.
Meet-cute?
It also seems fate brought the couple together when Ibbotson and the group were looking for a flatmate in London.
The timeline of their meeting happened during their hunt. For a new flat together with his mates Samuel Fry (lead vocals, guitarist), Dominic Sennet (bass), and Mikey Osment (drums).
In an interview with Telegraph, Alice shared this about beau, Edward:
“On a perfect Saturday night I’d eat out again (I love eating, basically), and Ed and I are great creatures of habit.”
What are they doing now?
Alice Levine said goodbye to BBC Radio 1 only last July of 2020. After 9 years of being a huge part of the network.
Her recent project – My Dad Wrote a Porno, is a British podcast. Where she works with a close team. Whom she met as a university student in Leeds many years ago. On her Instagram she shares:
“Me and the boys met at Leeds University approximately 58 years ago, aking student TV in a broom cupboard under the stairs in the union building. Also hiding in that bright yellow makeshift studio was the brilliant. Andy Morris who even then was making the most beautiful movie posters. I met these guys and started making shows with them. How different things could have been.”
Despite the lack of intel on the couple’s relationship, as of today, there has been no news about the couple splitting. The two seem to be happily committed 7 years into their relationship.
