Josie Gibson Big Brother: Life After Reality TV

After winning Big Brother back in 2010, it seems like life has had plenty of ups and down for Josie Gibson.
The star now has some serious TV accolades under her belt- she’s enjoyed slots on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, OK! TV and Loose Women, and is now a regular host on ITV’s This Morning.
But it hasn’t all been plain sailing for the star, who’s dealt with a fair few challenges along the way.
Lets take a look back at Josie’s journey…

Josie Gibson was announced the winner of Big Brother with a whopping 77.5% of the public vote- the highest percentage received by any champion in reality TV show’s history.
During her interview with host Davina McCall, Josie confirmed she would be happy to return to the show for the Ultimate Big Brother house. But on day 3, the star decided to walk out.
After leaving the Big Brother house for good, the former financial sales rep then managed to bag her own show; Josie and John James: What Happened Next. Viewers were super keen to follow her relationship with fellow housemate John James Parton.

Josie and John James went on to film a new series, There’s Something About Josie, but the pressures of constant filming began to take its toll on the couple.
John eventually flew back to Australia as their relationship crumbled- where he then ended up on Love Island Australia.
Successes
It seems like there’s been no stopping Josie since her time on Big Brother.
The reality star has appeared on TONNES of TV series- everything from Celebrity Wedding Planner, The Vanessa Show, and Let’s Do Lunch With Gino and Mel. She’s also been a frequent segment presenter and competition announcer on This Morning since 2019.
Josie took some time to reflect on her achievements so far in an interview with The Sun:
“I’ve done lots more reality shows, perfumes, DVDs, clothing line, two books, had a column and got to meet amazing people along the way!”.

Josie has also enjoyed numerous dramatic weight losses over the years. In her most recent transformation, she revealed that she has lost a whopping 10lbs in less than a month- with the help of her fat burning home workouts!
Challenges and hardship
This Morning presenter Josie recently revealed that she struggled after her win on the show when she was “ripped off” by friends and agents.
The Big Brother winner said:
“I was taken advantage of. Ripped off by people in the business and friends. I was so flattered that people would talk to me and be really nice to me. But there is a dark side and that’s the part I really struggled with”.
Things got worse for the star back in 2017 after she and her friends were assaulted by a man in taxi.
Josie was left with a black eye after her ordeal, while her friend was beaten unconscious. The reality TV star shared her shocking injuries on her social media channels, devastating fans.

Josie also admitted that she was left shattered when she received abuse and death threats by online trolls.
“I struggled with taunts about my looks and weight on social media and in the press… when I had death threats I was very scared and really should have seen someone to help me mentally get through it”.
But despite these struggles, Josie has stayed strong. She’s also completely focused on her new number one fan- her gorgeous son Reggie!

The star welcomed Reggie-James into the world in September 2018 with then-boyfriend Terry.
“I’ve got the love of my life and his name’s Reggie and he’s the best thing.
He’s very hyperactive and he’s talking now…he loves going on Loose Women – he loves Nadia Sawalha.”
Over 10 years on from her success on Big Brother, it really does seem like Josie Gibson is happier than ever with son Reggie by her side.
