Danielle Bux is best known for her marriage to BBC Sports presenter and retired footballer Gary Lineker, which lasted from 2009 until 2016. Despite this, Danielle and Gary are still very good friends, and are regularly spotted spending time together in both London and LA.
But what do we know about the model and actress, and what exactly is she up to these days?
Gary Lineker Wife
Cardiff-born Danielle Bux made her modelling debut in 1999, after bagging a place on the Miss Hawaiian Tropic beauty pageant in Las Vegas. She soon started taking on acting work including stage roles in Calendar Girls at Bristol Hippodrome, as well as guest spots in the BBC One drama Silent Witness.
The actress met sports personality Gary Lineker in 2007, when the pair were set up on a blind date. Danielle is a whopping 20 years his junior!
During their time together, the couple continuously put charity work first in order to raise funds for people at a disadvantage.
According to WalesOnline, Danielle and Gary were regular supporters of SPUR- the Spinal Injuries Unit based at Cardiff’s Rookwood Hospital. Wife Danielle Bux was a particular fan of the charity, as they had helped her brother recover from spinal damage in the past.
The couple attended seven-a-side football events in Danielle’s home city, at Cardiff’s Gôl Centre. Husband Gary would often donate items, such as signed football shirts, to raise money for the charity and improve it’s facilities for patients.
Danielle and Gary even went on to win £30,000 for other charities on ITV’s hit gameshow Mr and Mrs.

The duo married in a beautiful ceremony is Ravello on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, in September 2019- almost a year to the day of Gary’s proposal.
Danielle Bux has started proceedings with a very simple £400 ceremony, but the couple then decided to splurge on a lavish A-list wedding reception, blowing £250,000 for 50 very lucky guests!
The Split
Danielle Bux and Gary Lineker enjoyed seven years of happy marriage before they parted ways in 2016. The couple were granted a decree nisi that officially ended their union.
This was reportedly due to the sports presenter’s wish to not have any more children. Gary already has four sons from his first marriage to childhood sweetheart Michelle Cockayne.
However, the Welsh actress and her former husband are still close pals, and have maintained a good friendship despite their marriage coming to an end.
Speaking to The Mirror in September 2019, Gary explained:
“Danielle and I are best mates, we still speak three times a day, we text all the time. When she comes to London she stays with me, and when I go to LA I see her.
It’s unusual, I know, but I get the best of both worlds”.

Since their divorce, the pair have been a united front, with Gary’s son George even defending Danielle when rumours of hostility had started to appear.
When one such article emerged in 2019, Hello! Magazine reported that George had leapt to the model’s defence on Twitter, writing “Why do papers lie? We all get on very well with @DanielleBux & it doesn’t help at a hard time.”
Gary Lineker is still reportedly single, and not looking for a relationship for the moment.
New beginnings
After her divorce with Gary Lineker, model Danielle soon began dating Nate Greenwald, a high-flying American entertainment lawyer. The couple got together shortly after the model and actress moved to Los Angeles.
Danielle Bux revealed that the couple were expecting their first child less than a year after splitting from Gary, and welcomed beautiful new daughter Romy Wren into the world in August 2017. The Welsh beauty was already mum to Ella, from a previous relationship with retired footballer Adam Willis.
According to The Mirror, a source reported:
“[Danielle] is thrilled and so excited she’s pregnant. She’s been keeping it a secret until she was over 12 weeks.
“It’s nice because Gary never wanted to have kids with her. That was one of the reasons they broke up. So she thought she might have missed her chance to have any more kids.”

Susanna Reid Husband: Who is the TV presenter’s ex-partner?
The couple tied the knot in America in 2018, in a secret ceremony that was only announced by Danielle on Instagram almost a year later.
The model, now 41, shared a snap of the duo looking ecstatic on their wedding day, with the caption “#Throwback to our summer wedding @nategreenwald”.
A source told The Sun: “It was a quiet family ceremony. She kept it on the down-low.”
Nobody was sure if her ex-husband Gary attended the wedding, but he was very quick to ‘like’ the heartfelt wedding pics of Danielle and her brand-new hubby and offer his congrats.
Despite her split with husband Gary Lineker, it seems that the Welsh mum looks happier than ever before. With her new husband and daughters, it’s safe to say that family life is definitely suiting Danielle Bux!
