Alexander Armstrong Wife – The Woman Behind The Protean Celebrity
Alexander Armstrong has always been a familiar face on our TV screens. He made us laugh when he was part of the comedy duo Armstrong and Miller. Today, we know him as the charismatic host of the BBC game show, Pointless, alongside his long time friend and bestie Richard Osman towering beside him with some great presenting and great banter. Aside from being a comedian and presenter, Armstrong starred in several TV series and sitcoms such as Life Begins, and BBC One’s Beast. The Pointless host also has a voice acting career. You might recognise him as either Captain Dog or Mr Wolf in Peppa Pig! And if you enjoy some bass-baritone goodness, Armstrong released three studio albums between 2015 to 2017! Now as much as we enjoy getting to know the charming, protean celebrity, we’d also like to get to know Alexander Armstrong wife!
Who is the woman behind Alexander Armstrong? Let’s find out!
Alexander Armstrong Wife
Alexander Armstrong married his wife Hanna Bronwen Snow on August 27th 2003.
She used to work as an event organiser and is now a stay at home mom of four beautiful children.
There wasn’t much we could find about the missus because compared to Armstrong, Hanna doesn’t seem to enjoy being in the spotlight. (We also couldn’t find much on Armstrong’s Instagram account either!)
Except, of course, when she makes special appearances looking all beautiful and polished next to the equally dapper TV presenter.
We also found out that Hanna’s sister is journalist and food blogger Esther Walker, whose husband is a popular restaurant critic for The Times, Giles Coren.
Now, let’s see what we can find out about the Armstrong family!
Alexander Armstrong Wife and Family I
Alexander and Hanna have been married for 18 years! These days, the pair reside in Oxfordshire, together with their four young sons Rex, Patrick, Edward, and Henry.
Despite having his hands full, Armstrong is getting the hand of fatherhood.
In an interview with The Independent, he opened up a little about his family life saying:
“Fatherhood is lovely but there is this slightly shocking moment when you realise it is not something you just wear and take off.
“With your first child, you do perhaps go into it thinking, ‘Yeah, this is a job you can clock in and clock out of,’ but at about three weeks in, you suddenly realise it’s not like that.”
He continued about finding the balance between his family and his career:
“You have to tread a fine line between making family life wonderful, and nourishing and wholesome, but you also don’t want to shirk your duties as a parent.”
Alexander Armstrong Wife and Family II
What kind of parent do you think Armstrong is? Is he a disciplinarian or a softy?
Surprisingly, the usually light-hearted guy says he’s slightly more of a strict parent especially when it comes to TV and mobile device consumption. But generally, he’s a good cop all around.
Continuing in his interview with The Independent, the Pointless host shared:
“I’m probably the ‘good cop’ but I am the slightly tedious cop because I do tend to wag my finger and be a bit preachy about watching TV or using devices too much.
“I have lost count of the number of times I have told them about TV corroding their minds.”
And he’s probably right!
Alexander Armstrong today
If you’re wondering how the family has been doing recently, Armstrong shared a little insight on TV while promoting the Pointless Christmas special of 2020.
According to him, Christmas at home has been noisy with four boys running around wreaking havoc.
Armstrong commented:
“There are lots of children running around the house, which is lovely.
“You know they’re having the most lovely time and you sometimes have to keep a lid on your natural instinct which is to run out and say ‘what’s all that noise?’
“But running around the house and making a terrible mess and noise is what Christmas is all about at that age.
“I’ll miss it when we’re in the next stage of family life.”
