There’s so much to love about Game of Thrones (yes, even THAT finale!). The show is made not just by the fantastic storylines or incredible scenery, but it’s spectacular cast as well. Even thought the TV series has come to an end (much like many of its best characters – we’re still not over Catelyn Stark, the majestic Lady of Winterfell…), Game of Thrones is a truly timeless drama.
So now’s your chance to get to know much more about the brilliant cast. Who are the real-life partners of the Game of Thrones cast? There’s a few surprisingly famous faces in here…
Sean Bean (Ned Stark)
We sadly didn’t get nearly enough Sean Bean action in GoT. However, he definitely still counts as an important character. His real life partner is an interesting discussion… he’s had a few! The notoriously tragic character is currently married to his fifth wife, Ashley Moore.

Mr Bean’s wives have been Debra James (1981-1988), actresses Melanie Hill (1990-1997) and Abigail Cruttenden (1997-2000), and Georgina Sutcliffe (2008-2011). His marriage to Ashley was in 2017, so let’s hope fifth time’s a charm!
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister)
The Kingslayer’s character development throughout the Game of Thrones series was certainly a rollercoaster, and perfectly portrayed by Danish actor Nikolaj. Mr Coster-Waldau has made a great name for himself as an actor both in his native Denmark, and on the Hollywood stage. His partner is also quite famous in her own right!

Nukâka Coster-Waldau is more commonly known by just her forename, as a singer and actress from Greenland. Oh, and she just happens to be a former Miss Greenland! Nukâka also competed in the 1990 Miss Universe pageant, coming in 19th and securing Greenland’s highest ever Miss Universe result. What a gorgeous couple!
Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark)
Oh the tragic Lady of Winterfell, her death in season three is often viewed as one of the saddest of all of the many, many, many deaths in Game of Thrones. The Northern Irish actress has made her name on stage and screen in many British and American TV shows, including Holby City, Casualty, Suits and even appeared as Mrs Granger in Harry Potter!

Ms Fairley keeps her personal life pretty quiet. She split from a long-term boyfriend in 2012 and since then, it seems she hasn’t had any other partners. She’s far too busy with work to worry about such things, as although she has made her way onto American screens, she has stated that her heart remains in the West End.
Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister)
One of the most complex characters in the series, the 20th ruler of the Seven Kingdoms, Queen Cersei spoke one of the most iconic lines of the series:
“When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.”
The first official queen of the Seven Kingdoms, she was ruthless and headstrong, cruel to Tyrion and holding a, shall we say, unusual relationship with her brother. Her death was certainly pretty tragic in season 8.

Bermuda-born Lena Headey grew up in the UK, and you may recognise her from the films 300, The Jungle Book, and The Purge. She has been married, between 2007 and 2013, to Peter Loughran. They divorced in 2013, and she then had a long-term relationship with Dan Cadan from 2015. The couple split in 2o19 though, and it seems the Lannister matriarch is happily single for now.
Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen)
Queen Daenerys Targaryen claimed to be the 21st ruler of the Seven Kingdoms after Cersei’s death, however she was never crowned. She began quiet, almost timid, however she soon embraced her self-title of Mother of Dragons, becoming increasingly more volatile until the death of the dragon Rhaegal tips her over into full ‘Targaryen madness’. The carnage unleashed at King’s Landing in season 8 solidifies her in more of a ‘villain’ than ‘hero’ category!

Daenerys was a breakthrough role for British actress Emilia Clarke, who is now a household name both in the UK and the US. Emilia recently appeared in Terminator Genisys as Sarah Connor, as well as starring in Solo: A Star Wars Story. She loves sci-fi drama! Ms Clarke lives in London and, although being named as GQ’s Woman of Year in 2015 and frequently appearing on Sexiest Women and Best Dressed Women lists, she is currently single.
Jon Snow (Kit Harrington)
