31. He Considers His Role As The Duke Of Hastings As An Important One
As viewers, it was great to see such a diverse cast in the new Netflix drama, and including a man of colour taking the lead role (which usually never happens in a period piece!). Page has been open and vocal about the importance of diversity and people of colour being included in such a genre, meaning he values his role as Simon Basset even more.

Speaking about his role, he has said that anybody is worthy of seeing themselves “at their highest elevation”, no matter their race, and “to see that you are worthy of love, romance, glamour and status”. And it’s clear that the Duke of Hastings (and Page) certainly prove that.
