A conservatorship is appointed for those who are unable to look after themselves, usually people of an older age, or those with ‘dementia-like’ illness.
The courts rules that because of Britney’s mental state, she wasn’t able to take charge of her personal and business affairs, including even custody of her two boys. That was in 2008, and it still remains in place today.
Britney’s independence has been jeopardised since the ruling, which stated that her Dad, Jamie Spears, would control her conservatorship.
