In It’s A Wonderful Life where the character Uncle Billy gets drunk, George Bailey points him in the right direction home, and Uncle Billy crashes over off screen didn’t happen.
The noise actually came from a technician knocking over a stack of props and the actor playing Billy just rolled with it. The director, Frank Capra, loved it so much that it stayed in the film and he even gave a bonus to the technician.
