She’s been making headlines
Sykes, 50, has recently been making headlines after she enjoyed a six day fling with Venetian gondolier, Riccardo Simionato, 23.
After an image of the lovebirds kissing was leaked, Mel took to her social media to comment on her holiday romance:
The Mail on Sunday spoke to the Venetian hottie for his take on the fling with him smiling as he said:
‘I don’t remember. I meet a lot of people’.
When pressed further about Melanie, and her age, he said:
‘Beauty is relative. Maybe what in your eyes is beautiful, isn’t to me’.
He’s not her first toyboy…
After her marriage to actor Daniel Caltagirone broke down, leaving her a single mother to sons aged 18 and 16 (at the time of writing), she married her first toyboy, Jack Cockings.
However, this marriage also broke down and the pair got divorced.
Melanie has since been linked to the likes of Keith Lemon, Olly Murs and Steve Coogan.
Melanie Sykes’ career
Mel’s first big TV presenting job was on Today with Des and Mel with Des O’Connor.
The show was a great success but after three years, ITV cancelled the show in a ‘painful, but necessary’ move.
After infrequent cover work, filling in for the likes of Paul O’Grady on his show and some of the Loose Women panellists, she secured a co-hosting role alongside Gino D’Acampo on Let’s Do Lunch With Gino & Mel.
Again, after three years, the show was cancelled by ITV.
In 2014, Melanie headed into the Australian jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and got into some heated debates with her campmates.
